Ooh, it is really hard to choose. The best wedding I have attended was my parents wedding when I was 17. I was a bridesmaid, along with my sister. It was such a lovely day, filled with love and laughter. In terms, of work...I genuinely enjoy working on every single brief that couples give me! I love seeing pictures come back from their wedding and seeing how my work fits in with all the other components of their day. It's so rewarding!
Boho. Whimsical. Modern. Detailed. Personal.
All of it. I have worked so hard over the past few of years to get the business to where it is now, and just seeing how I have evolved as a designer is incredibly interesting. Every time a couples stationery lands on my doorstep, I think wow...dream jobs are really out there if you work hard!
Enjoy it! Sometimes it is super hard and you can get wrapped up in something so insignificant. But when the day finally arrives, and you see all your hard work come together, you are going to want to reflect on how much you enjoyed the whole process.
Homemade jam and chutney favours...so cute!! The couple spent a weekend at home simmering jams and chutneys, and lovingly packaging them up! Such a lovely idea and a great way to bond over the planning stages.
It all begins with an email from a bride, a groom or a couple, which I respond to in one of three ways; a follow up email, a phone call or a face-to-face consultation dependent on where they are based. We discuss design styles, colour schemes and deadlines so that I am able to build a quote for them. Because the majority of what I do is very bespoke, this is a hugely important part of the process. I will go away and build a quote and if they choose to work with me, I will then send an order confirmation along with a stationery guideline form which allows them to provide wording, pictures and other notes of request. I then spend 1-2 weeks designing, and once finished, I will provide a proof deck with all the designs laid out and labelled for the couple to see. They can print this document and write notes/make suggestions which they can send back to me for to begin the revision process. I usually go through 1-3 revision stages with each couple to get the designs spot on. Once they are happy, I send to print, and items come delivered by courier. For invitation sets, couples can select from home assembly or for me to assemble their stationery so when they receive it, they post it out.
Invitations. Most definitely. Not only do they provide guests with all the information they need but they also provide a glimpse into the tone of the day. Quite often, they are the only physical memento left over from he day itself...along with photographs and the dress of course!
Bespoke invitation suites, table plans and thank you postcards, without a doubt!
Because everything I do is bespoke, a couples personality and style can be represented across all of their stationery which I believe is romantic in itself!
