Description

Events can be fully or partly self-catered using the facilities in the Kitchen Barn and guests can opt to camp in the barn fields, making this a cost-effective as well as beautiful location for your wedding. The standard hire is for two days, additional nights can be booked around weekends. The Big Barn is a wonderful large room, 12 x 12 metres, with a high roof, tall oak windows, a stage at one end and large glass doors opening out to a terrace overlooking the lake. There is a stone fireplace and woodburner, mood and stage lighting. A very reasonably priced bar is open on both nights of your stay and bespoke drinks packages can be purchased. The Kitchen Barn has a new commercial kitchen at one end and wooden tables, benches and seating at the other. The Tall Barn forms the entrance to the Big Barn. There are steep steps on one side to alpine-style sleeping platforms for up to 20 people which can be used creatively for sleeping, storage, quiet kids area and as a dressing room. An internal toilet block accessed from the Big Barn has three toilet cubicles including one wheelchair accessible, two hot showers, additional basins, and many mirrors. The Barn Yard outside has parking for about 30 cars, and an outside toilet block with porcelain toilets and washbasins. There are two electric hook-ups here. Two camping fields, Barn Field and Cae Hendre, run down to the lake. When hiring the barns, you get private use of these fields, which can be used for tent camping or small campervans; in addition, there is space for a few caravans beside the hedgerow at the top of the Barn Field, where there are four electric hook-ups. Further parking is available on the campsite overflow car park by arrangement.

Llyn Gwnant was the ideal place for our wedding, the facilities and the setting were just what we were looking for. We appreciated the option to rent Bell tents for our guests, and the large kitchen area. The main barn itself looks stunning and was easily big enough for our meal with ~120 guests, and then a ceilidh after. Staff were helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. The new patio area with benches was popular as a sheltered outdoor area, while the lake and tree provided a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony. The very first time we visited Llyn Gwynant, we knew it was the perfect wedding venue for us, being situated in one of the most stunning parts of Snowdonia. The Barns themselves are beautiful, inside and out, and allow so much freedom to make them your own (although we ended up doing very little to them – they’re perfect as they are!). There are so many areas of the venue that make it so special – we were drawn particularly by the back patio area, which was great for sitting outside by the fire pit in the evening, and the extensive private fields where guests can wander to explore the views – and we could plant an oak tree! Something for us to come back to visit on our anniversary! We hired the venue from Friday through to Sunday, and our guests staying onsite really enjoyed settling in on the Friday night, making use of the well-equipped kitchen and chill-out area, as well as the campsite’s bar and pizzeria. Steve and his team excelled themselves setting up tipis for our guests (in bad weather that thankfully cleared up for the wedding itself!) – having everyone on site in this way created a really relaxed, festival-like atmosphere, and Steve was on hand into the evening to ensure everyone was happy with their comfy beds & bedding! All of the staff were amazing, from start to finish. Nic and Steve in particular were super friendly and extremely helpful from the start, happy to answer all of our questions and show us around when we were booking and planning. On the day itself, the Gwynant team couldn’t have been more helpful in making the day run smoothly, always flexible, and going above and beyond with everything. We can’t put into words how much we appreciate their time and effort! In short, our wedding couldn’t have been better – we’d love to do it all over again! I just wanted to drop a line to thank you so much for everything in the lead up to our wedding and on our wedding day! Nic, Steve and all the staff were wonderful and helped make our day perfect! We couldn’t of wished for a better location… it was perfect for what we wanted – And everyone had a fabulous time! Fantastic wedding weekendFantastic wedding weekend
We enjoyed the most fantastic wedding weekend at Llyn Gwynant Barns for our wedding in September! The Barn itself, the surrounding grounds for camping in and the setting of Llyn Gwynant was perfect for a relaxed, enjoyable wedding! We had the venue from Friday afternoon through to Monday, which allowed guests to enjoy the area, (including the groom who managed to whizz up Snowdon with his groomsmen on the morning of the wedding!) Steve and Nic made the day run smoothly and were lovely throughout the planning process! If only we could do it all again!We enjoyed the most fantastic wedding weekend at Llyn Gwynant Barns for our wedding in September! Nic and the team at Llyn Gwynant barns were absolutely fantastic from the moment we chose this as our wedding venue. Nic was always on hand to answer every question we had in the run up to our wedding weekend. Our day was better than I had imagined even with the torrential rain we had all day. We were left to do our thing and the team popped in to check if we needed anything. The chilled and relaxed atmosphere is exactly what we wanted and that’s what the barns is all about. We have absolutely no regrets choosing this incredible venue for our wedding. Essentially you’re hiring a stone barn and surrounding land in one of the most beautiful places on earth. We arrived the day before the wedding and had great fun decorating the barn with our own bunting etc – really making the place feel like our own. Nic, Charlie and the rest of the Gwynant team looked after us so well giving us a few tips about layout etc (and saving us when we forgot 100 bowls for pudding…) but without being bossy like so many glossy wedding venues! Gwynant is not glossy and that’s exactly why we chose it! Rustic, hearty, earthy and wonderful... We were prepared for bad weather on the wedding day itself (hired pagodas at the ready!)- but in fact we were blessed with incredible June sunshine. A civil marriage plus a multi-faith ceremony with small orchestra and choir (!) followed by drinks and photos in the field, a hearty feast in the barn and real welsh ceilidh. The night ended with a warming campfire complete with guitars and singing. Our welly-wearing guests camped in the barn’s own private campsite and others stayed in B&Bs in nearby Beddgelert. Most people wait a year (or even 10) to go back and visit the place they got married but we found ourselves back at Gwynant only 2 months later, camping down by the Lake and remembering our very unique wedding. “We have absolutely no regrets choosing this incredible venue for our wedding. Our own unique weddingOur own unique wedding
As a local boy, I knew how amazing the setting was. Once Siobhan had seen it, we both realised this was the place we wanted our reception to be. The day itself was magical, and the ability to decorate ourselves and create our own unique wedding is something we treasure. Both families camped the night of the wedding, which allowed us all to spend that extra time with one another, again something we had really looked forward to. All the staff were excellent throughout. They were where they needed to be, and we experienced great communication throughout the planning and on the day itself. We had a brilliant weekend, all our guests thought the setting was stunning. Our wedding on the Saturday was perfect but we would recommend staying all weekend: we had a big breakfast (easy from the well set up barn kitchen) on the Sunday, swam in the lake, hired canoes, went walking and ate lots of pizza.
