Description

At The Pumping House we truly believe each wedding is unique. You will work with our wonderful in-house catering team and dedicated Wedding Manager to ensure every aspect of your day is tailored to create a completely bespoke and magical experience. Our old meets new venue features two licensed ceremony rooms, main hall for wedding breakfasts, accommodation and a large lawn for outdoor drinks receptions. Late licensed to 1am, our beautiful red brick building, still featuring the original and distinctive chimney, is located in the heart of Sherwood Forest. The tranquil surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for weddings and offers ample opportunity for unique photography. The Pumping House is just a short drive from Sheffield, Nottingham, Lincoln and Mansfield. Set over two impressive floors you can hold a ceremony in the Ollerton Room which has beautifully unique parquet flooring and is filled with natural light from the original paned windows, creating the perfect setting for wedding ceremonies, this is licensed for civil ceremonies with seating for up to 100 guests. The Engine Hall is also licensed for civil ceremonies from 80 to 150 guests. Guests can enjoy drinks and canapés following the ceremony in The Conservatory Bar or the beautiful landscaped garden. The Engine Hall provides an impressive setting for the wedding breakfast. The unique tiling, stunning arch windows and high glass ceiling create an illuminating space that is perfect for weddings from 50 to 170 guests. The room can accommodate various layouts and can be used as a canvas for different theming and settings. As dusk falls, guests can dance the night away, celebrating this memorable day and bringing The Engine Hall to life. The Pumping House also unveils an oasis of beautifully thought-through, luxury apartments. Nestled at the rear of our historic venue, these ten Self-catering apartments are the perfect accommodation for your wedding party.

For anyone that wants a stunning Industrial wedding venue in the Midlands needs to go and see The Pumping House in Ollerton. The quality and attention to detail across the entire site and accommodation is very impressive. The building has been restored to perfection! Jo and her team are absolutely wonderful to deal with. Nothing is too much effort. Would highly recommend! :For anyone that wants a stunning Industrial wedding venue in the Midlands needs to go and see The Pumping House in Ollerton. The Pumping House is a simply stunning venue, from the moment we walked in, we knew it was the venue for us. Its finished to the highest quality and holds a unique quirkiness which we fell for. The venue is amazing, but it just wouldn’t be the same without Jo. Jo BLOODY ROCKS. Our wedding would literally not have been the same without her. She made the entire process super easy, fun and we both feel like we were simply planning our wedding with a friend. Jo took care of our guests and us without even blinking, nothing was too much trouble. The Pumping House, Jo and her team are absolutely wonderful. We chose them for our wedding reception in June and we couldn’t have wished for anything more. The venue itself is stunning. It has been restored beautifully with so many cool original features complimented by gorgeous contemporary modern finishes. The Engine Hall was the perfect space to celebrate with all our family and friends throughout the day eating, drinking, dancing together and had the best atmosphere. Our guests loved being able to explore the mezzanine floor rooms and chill out in the quieter spaces and the balcony allows for some great photo opportunities. Having the entire place to ourselves including all the grounds and the flexibility to do everything we wanted was ideal, we loved it. Gail Dandy is their in house caterer and she is superb, we’re so delighted we chose to go with her for our main meal. Her food was amazing, we had so many wonderful comments about how delicious it all was and Gail was brilliant to work with. Jo is quite simply amazing. We loved planning our wedding with her. She made everything easy, fun, relaxed and enjoyable right from the very beginning. No stresses, no worries, Jo made everything, right from our very first viewing through to saying goodnight at the end of such an amazing day, run so smoothly. We fell in love instantly with the venue, and working with Jo made our day perfect. We can’t thank everyone at The Pumping House enough for being so fantastic and making our wedding day so amazing. Wilson Brown Wedding The Pumping House - So grateful and thankful we found this place for our wedding. It's a real Gem. There's lots of things we wanted to mention in this review, here goes: 1: The staff were brilliant from start to end. Jo is the venue manager and greeted us with a big smile when we first visited and turned out to be one of the most helpful people we've ever come across. She's super dedicated, always goes the extra mile and worked in every way she could to provide us as much freedom as she could to arrange every element of our wedding, completely adapting to what we wanted. Jo was brilliant at keeping in touch and assisting with any issues or queries we had running right up until the big day, emailing at all hours to help reassure us and resolve any issues. The staff on the day including Jo, Aimee and all the other staff just had it. We never had to worry about anything and worked to our agreed schedule perfectly and clearly understand the importance of having everything in order and running like clockwork. Every member staff was helpful and friendly and the guests all commented on how they never really had to wait at the bar which they saw as a huge plus! 2: Gail Dandy the venue catering service were brilliant! She arranged the menu with us so it was exactly what we wanted, provided a nice tasting and then cooked to the same high standard for the full wedding party on the day! We wanted big platter boards and Italian themed food, Gail provided everything including the platter boards themselves. We're foodies and have big appetites (as do most of the guests) so we were always a little worried that people wouldn't have enough but on the day the food just kept coming! The staff were brilliant at refilling boards and plates without the need for prompting and provided a greats service throughout the day. 3: The venue is quality. The building is beautiful with lots of lovely features with a slightly edgy feel which was right up our street. The grounds are green and lush so look great on the photos and provided lots of space for the other things (including a travelling pizza oven) we wanted. The original subway tiles, the parquet flooring, the numerous themed and well decorated rooms and the large arched windows provided a gorgeous backdrop for the wedding day. 4: Our experience - We had the best day and were so pleased we took the risk on the diamond in the rough. When we first visited it was still a building site but we couldn't of been happier with the place come wedding day! It was everything we could have asked for and the whole experience was chilled and enjoyable because of all these things. We thoroughly recommend this place and it can only get better when the last bits and pieces are added including the apartments which looked brilliant when we saw them just before completion! Everything was perfect - you did a brilliant job and worked so hard on the day to bring everything together . It was better than we ever expected! The building looked stunning and everyone was saying that it was the best wedding food they had ever tasted! The band was cracking too !! Wowwww!!! Thank you so much for organising it all!! We fell in love with this beautiful venue almost instantly, despite there still being some building work done! Jo and Amie were amazing throughout - professional and prompt, but warm, friendly and up for dealing with anything. My husband and I are so grateful for all the hard work the team put in, and the Pumping House looked fabulous on the day. My bridal party stayed at the accommodation on site - spacious, beautiful rooms. I would not hesitate to recommend the venue and the team and I am so happy we got married there!We fell in love with this beautiful venue almost instantly, despite there still being some building work done! The food and service was amazing and the staff were so helpful! I wish we could do it all over again!
