Nestled among the rolling Chiltern hills and tucked away just off the historic Old Amersham high street, Kings Chapel is Amersham's best kept secret. Just a stone's throw from London you would never guess that the little old town of Amersham is in Zone 9 as the countryside stretches out in front of you. Pairing little and large perfectly; it is quietly breath-taking from its spectacular domed main hall to its tiny finer details of the glittering chandeliers in the elegant reception room. Have your ceremony on the distinguished mezzanine overlooking beautiful Chiltern views through the large arched windows, or perhaps atop the original classic pulpit to draw all eyes to you. Spill out into our walled garden or beautiful reception room for a celebratory glass of bubbly (or several!), and then wander in to take your seats for the most delicious hearty meal prepared fresh on site. With the option of a late bar and accommodation on site, continue the party on into the early hours of the morning and then let us help you to a hearty full English and continental breakfast.
We truly believe every wedding is unique and so we are not a package venue; we itemise everything separately and let you pick and choose whatever you'd like to make your bespoke day come to life, from decorating the venue to selecting the menu.

Very reasonable price and it's a hidden gem. The events staff were all so super from the very beginning and nothing was ever too much for them. The staff on the day were also fab and attentive. They couldn't do enough to help and guide us through planning our wedding day. We had both our reception and actual ceremony at the venue. It was truly beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better day. Alexis was our wedding coordinater and she did the most amazing job, especially some of the little touches on the day. Like messages written on the mirrors in the toilets and bridal suite. I could go on all day about the staff and venue, if I could marry my husband all over again at this fabulous venue I would! We got married in April 2018, and right from the very beginning the staff at Kings Chapel were exemplary. They couldn't do enough to help and guide us through planning our wedding day. We had both our reception and actual ceremony at the venue. It was truly beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better day. The chapel is a stunning venue with a beautiful ceremony room. As it was a sunny day we were able to have drinks and nibbles in the garden. The outside areas are so picturesque and great for wedding pictures. Tash was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. - PPhil & Tash30/05/2017Without a doubt the best day of my lifeWithout a doubt the best day of my lifeThe Kings Chapel was actually only the second venue we saw when we started the mammoth task of trying to find the perfect wedding venue. After that all the other venues were always dismissed as ‘not being as good’ and when we received the extremely reasonable worst case scenario pricing the mind was pretty much made up. Our coordinator Tash couldn’t have been anymore helpful if she’d tried. Constantly available despite no doubt having many other weddings to coordinate she helped us slot things in to place so quickly and efficiently it meant when the last minute hiccups did arrive they never became a massive problem because everything was largely taken care of. From last minute changes in attendance numbers to sorting a bespoke starter as we weren’t huge fans of ones on the menus, she along with her demon colleagues made the whole run up smooth, organised and pretty much close to perfect. And what’s not to like? Yes the rooms are sparse decor wise but that then gives you scope to design it yourself! We used venue decorators Ever After to create a perfect scene for us (recommended to us by Kings chapel in the first place) and together they nailed it for us with amazing floral arrangements and a brilliant light canopy going from the balcony to the top of the service area. If you are looking for simplicity this is it. All accommodation is onsite, the venue is licensed for weddings, they repurpose that room for the breakfast and then the reception can be held after in the room next door. No ferrying of guests back and forth! And so long as the rooms above the bar are filled by the guests you can keep the Kings Arms bar open til 2am! Everything you need in one neatly packaged bundle. Oh and the bride and grooms room came free. It was without a doubt the best day of my life, and helped massively by Tash and the team at the Kings Arms and Chapel. We can’t thank them enough for what they did. Old Amersham is a beautiful place, and the style of buildings make for a really picturesque setting. It even snowed the day after our wedding which made it seem all the more magical. It's so hard to choose! Every wedding is so different and unique, which is the best thing about them! We always love when couples make the most of the unique venue and go for really different or interesting decorations.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Consider what is most important to you! You'll feel a lot of pressure from your budget, or family and friends and be eager to please everyone, sometimes to the detriment of your own enjoyment of the day - truly the only 2 people who need to be happiest on the day are you and your future spouse.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We always love it when something really special to the couple can be included, whether it's homegrown flowers in the bouquets, or Mum making the wedding cake. Our favorite times often include when there has been a surprise planned for the happy couple that they genuinely had no idea about!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our recommended photographers always manage to find new angles in unique nooks and crannies! We have so many different and interesting features, it's hard to pick the best spot! It really depends on what the couples value the most about our amazing venue.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Marc Owen from Take That performed as a surprise for one couple. We've also had Theo James attend and try not to steal the Bride and Groom's thunder!
What’s your favourite canapé?
We have a really wide range of choices for canapés but the definite crowd-pleaser is our homemade pork and sage sausage rolls... pass us the plate please!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Who can beat a celebration cake of cheese at the end of the night! Yummy!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
It's got to be a choice of 3; either our original pulpit, the elegant mezzanine or the spectacular domed ceiling with one of the largest unsupported domes in England.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We particularly take pride in the fact that all of our weddings are so individual, and that we are able to make this possible. The team of co-ordinators are genuinely friendly and interested in people and the different stories that pass through our doors, and making people happy is what makes us tick. We man the office 7 days a week and are always up for a chat and ready to answer any questions you may have.
