Hales Hall & The Great Barn is a romantic, five-star, luxury, boutique venue for couples seeking a unique wedding. We offer an exclusive 3-day hire and are fully licensed for Civil Marriages, Civil Partnerships and Duo Ceremonies.
Seating 50-200+ guests for wedding receptions the majestic thatched Grade 1 Tudor Great Barn features an impressive vaulted roof with exposed timbers, 180 candlelit loop-hole windows, feature licensed bar, integrated sound & lighting system, projection screen and underfloor heating. There is a further large gallery reception room offering breath-taking views across Hales country estate and meadow land.
The quintessential country estate offers all the romance and seclusion for the ultimate celebration. Guests may enjoy canapés, drinks & games on the moated lawns or relax on the sun-kissed terrace by The Great Barn with outdoor seating and fairy lights. The romantic walled gardens are stocked with aromatic lavender, tumbling scented roses, beautiful lawns and clipped topiary providing the perfect setting for your treasured moments and wedding photographs.
Hales luxurious five-star accommodation offers four individual country residences set within the enchanting walled grounds. The heritage properties feature individual stylish interiors offering a relaxed yet elegant ambience with open fires, unique furnishings, luxurious bedrooms, well-equipped kitchens and stunning bathrooms. We take great personal pride and pleasure in helping you achieve the day of your dreams, taking away any stresses and strains from you and your family in the lead up and, of course, on the day itself. We have many years’ experience hosting weddings at Hales Hall & The Great Barn. You’ll be working with our award-winning event team throughout the whole planning process from initial enquiry through to the big day. And they’ll be on hand for your whole weekend to ensure that everything runs to perfection.

On the Monday, we tidied up and left feeling that we had spent more than three nights away! We could not recommend Hales Hall more highly for your very special occasion! My husband and I knew as soon as we walked in that it would be our venue. Briony and her team were impeccable through the whole planning process. They made planning our wedding stress-free! We would always be able to get in contact with them and we were able to visit the barn pretty much whenever. The day before the wedding, we were allowed the whole Friday to set up, with the help of the staff, it was easy to set up our vision in the barn. We couldn't have been happier with how it looked and the staff listened to any of our requests and would deal with them straight away. On the day, Briony and the team were truly incredible. They made sure the day went ahead without any hitches allowing myself, my husband and our guests to enjoy our day without any worries. They ushered guests, dealt with requests and knew exactly what was going on at all times. It was seamless! When you book The Great Barn, you're not only getting the most amazing venue, but the most amazing team with it. Elliott and I cannot thank you enough for providing us with the perfect wedding day! Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Almost everywhere you turn at Hales there is another beautiful view, but perhaps our favourite spot is the wooden bench at the end of the long topiary avenue of white roses and blue delphiniums.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
HRH Prince Charles as been a guest at Hales Hall.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
We love it when one of our lovely local pizza vans pays a visit. The smell of freshly cooked pizza wafting around the courtyard outside the Great Barn after a night of romance and laughter is the perfect way to bring proceedings to a close.
