Steeped in history and set amidst spectacular wooded countryside, Launcells Barton is a family run wedding & events venue near Bude in northern Cornwall.
An occasion as memorable as your wedding day demands a beautiful setting. As well as breathtaking views of the Cornish countryside, Launcells Barton offers exclusive use and an array of different options for your ceremony and reception.
You can choose to exchange vows in the historic Mill Barn or beneath a custom-built arbour within the beautiful walled garden. You can marry on the top step just outside the entrance to the house, overlooking your friends and family on the lawn below, or hold a small, intimate ceremony within the elegant surroundings of the sitting room. There’s also the possibility to have a ‘blessing’ or non-religious ceremony in a variety of unlicensed locations dotted throughout the grounds.
For your reception, the house provides the perfect setting for intimate gatherings while the purpose-built Events Barn can accommodate up to 200 seated guests.
The Georgian house provides accommodation for up to 13 close friends and family, while the beautifully appointed Bridal Suite will provide an elegant space in which to prepare for your wedding day and spend your first night together as a married couple.
With all the essentials covered, you have the freedom to choose how your wedding will unfold. Our completely flexible, fully bespoke approach means you can dictate every detail, from the setting of your ceremony to the catering and decor.

We offer 2 nights exclusive use with accommodation for 15 onsite. We have indoor and outdoor ceremony options, with a purpose built Reception Barn, so you can set up both your ceremony and reception the day before and never need to worry about the weather! Your day will be co-ordinated by our friendly and experienced team, so you can enjoy every precious moment!
Low season starts at £4750 for mid-week & £7150 for weekend hire.

Lara and Matt were so welcoming and excited about helping us achieve our wedding dreams! They provided lots of advice and recommendations, and using some of their amazing partner suppliers made things so easy for us! Our wedding day was perfect, one of the best things was that on the actual day we enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. This was so important as we knew that we weren’t going to be able to relive the day, we wanted to make the most of it and it’s thanks to Lara, Matt and their team that we were able to do this. From early on the Saturday morning I really felt like a bride. And you being there was the biggest part of me feeling this way: the way you dealt with the bagpipes, to the way you facilitated the registrar visit, to the way you said ‘don’t worry I will sort out your dress’ as I was about to walk down the aisle amongst many other things you did, allowed me to feel like the most perfect bride and for us to have truly the best day ever. And I am pretty certain that people who chose to get married elsewhere do not get this treatment. From the moment we visited it, we knew it was the perfect place and didn’t even consider anyone else. We loved the feel, the accommodating nature and the feeling that you would all do anything you could to accommodate us. I am getting quite emotional as I write this! Thank you just doesn’t seem to cover it but we are so grateful and thankful we found you and Launcells Barton – there is nothing we would change about the experience. What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure you take some time together during the day, you will be so busy speaking to family and friends, that sometimes couples don't see much of each other and at the end of the day its about the two of you! Whether you put on your wellies and go for a walk or you hop on the back on our tractor you can see some spectacular views across the Cornish Countryside and even watch the sun setting across the sea!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We had a wedding where the couples seating plan, was based on their favourite beaches from their travels! I love all the personal touches as that's what makes the day so special.
