Undiscovered, exclusive and wildly romantic, Mapperton is shortlisted for Historic Houses Garden of the Year 2020 and our arts and crafts Italianate valley gardens provide a wonderful backdrop for your day. Our venue is perfect for couples who are looking for a personalised celebration with plenty of wow factor as well as a stunning rustic barn for your reception and evening party. We have four beautiful outdoor ceremony locations and two indoor licensed areas. After your exchange of vows, celebrate with drinks and canapes outside the chic vintage Orangery and enjoy far-reaching views through the formal gardens into the tumbling countryside beyond, a favourite spot for photos. Allow plenty of time for your guests to wander through the gardens and truly relax in the peaceful atmosphere at Mapperton. Afterwards head over to our stunning Coach House, recently converted into a magnificent party space for up to 120 seated guests. With whitewashed walls and stunning beams, it has a modern calm and tonal feel as well as retaining heritage charm with its original features. Our rustic trestle tables and crossback chairs are included in the wedding package although you are welcome to hire round tables if preferred. For additional cover we include a 9x12m marquee in our venue hire fee and this is usually sited by the Coach House creating a wonderful addition to your evening party, especially with fire pits and festoon lights. For wedding parties with more guests we have additional space on the Croquet Lawn for a larger marquee reception. Our Garden Cottage, which overlooks the gardens, is also part of the wedding package for the night before and night of your wedding. Decorated in neutral tones, the double aspect master bedroom is large enough for you to invite make-up and hair onsite to help your morning preparations, and at the end of your evening party you simply wander hand in hand across the grass for the first night of your married life.
