- SScott W02/01/2018Outstanding Wedding VenueOutstanding Wedding VenueWhere do I start, I got married at the Maryculter House on the 18th August 2018. We had several guests traveling from all over the world so we booked the hotel for 2 nights. When we arrived everyone got shown there rooms and we settled in just perfect. As there was about 20 people we got a private room to have our meal in which was really nice as we could all speak across the tables and the food was served just perfectly. On the morning of the wedding i was a bit worried as i knew i had family driving up from Dundee and was worried they wouldn't be able to get into rooms as there check in was 3pm and my wedding was at 1.30pm. But i didn't have anything to worry about all guests arrived around 12/12.30 and everyone got the keys to rooms and was able to get changed. So happy there wasn't a wedding the night before or this wouldn't of been the case as i know the staff have to get all the rooms to a high standard for new guests. Our wedding coordinator was Gemma, she was fantastic all the way up to the wedding and on the wedding day she made my stress levels go from 100 to o. She did everything for me and I didn't worry about anything, the day couldn't have gone any better or smoother. All the staff on the wedding day was so friendly and kind and all my guests were happy with the service from the bar. I cant thank you all enough for such an amazing day. Ballroom overlooked the river, excellent setting. Food was delicious and piping hot and service was excellent. All staff were friendly and helpful and we were made to feel so welcome. Our room was spacious, homely and clean and extremely comfortable and we had a lovely view over the river. To this end we have taken away great memories of this memorable day. The "Great Hall" forms part of the original building at Maryculter House and dates back to 1225 when the Knights Templar trained here.......... now if those walls could talk.......
