Description

The Caves is our larger venue with vaults that make up Edinburgh's South Bridge. There is no venue more Edinburgh than the Caves,or more Scottish either if you consider there was once so much Whisky stored here that it became known as “Whisky Row”. Every room has a story to tell and a special place in Scottish history -from vaults that served as the stables to the French Cavalry who were at one time body guards to the Royal Family, to remains of the houses that pre-date the Bridge itself – with the original terracotta floor tiles still intact! This amazing and fantastically unique venue will wow your guests. It's romantic and offers your guests a fantastic experience from start to finish!

My daughter had her wedding here Saturday past. I was very impressed with the whole experience- the venue, the organisation and the food. This is an unusual and quirky place quite unlike any other wedding I have been to but definitely one of the best.My daughter had her wedding here Saturday past. Attended family wedding in the Rowantree ,this is a lovely quirky venue loads of character everyone made very welcome, the wedding setting itself was beautiful and changed into the dining room for the wedding breakfast. The food which was delicious was served promptly whole table at once and piping hot. Had our wedding here in September. From start to finish communication with the coordinators was excellent. The food was lovely and service from the staff was brilliant. The Foundation Room! With candles lit everywhere and terracotta floors you get the most beautiful pictures. Outside - the cobbled streets of Edinburgh's Cowgate make for a stunning backdrop too.

Loads! Even before they were Wedding Venues the vaults were once a pub named 'Lucky Middlemasses Tavern' with Robert Burns being a regular and even a visit from Benjamin Franklin!

The whole venue is Unique - our name is 'Unusual Venues of Edinburgh' after all! I think maybe the most unique things is the fact that we are inside a Bridge!
