The Lowry is a dramatic, award winning landmark located at the heart of contemporary Salford Quays, only a few miles away from Manchester city centre. Our contemporary arts venue offers a range of unique spaces to create your perfect day. Our circular Compass Room is truly stunning. Privately located on the top floor of the building, the space is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows which give a 360-degree view of Salford Quays. A private balcony also means that you and your guests can step outside to enjoy the magnificent views. The Compass Room comes with the option of lighting the room with a bespoke canopy of fairy lights. The Compass Room can accommodate upto 150 for a ceremony and 200 for a reception. For ceremonies and smaller receptions, choose from either our Hexagon and Pier Eight rooms, which are intimate spaces with fantastic waterside views. We understand that every wedding is as individual and unique as every bride and groom and we pride ourselves on our bespoke service. We believe that our special day should not have to fit into a package - each detail no matter how large or small should be exactly how you want it to be. After searching for a while we came across the Lowry Theatre and fell in love. It had everything we wanted and was different. The wedding organiser was so helpful and made sure planning was easy and stress free and the staff on the day were fantastic. From the second we stepped into 'The Lowry,' we were welcomed with a smile and a cup of tea from Lucy Markey. She was so lovely and personal and did everything she could to make us happy, finding out what we wanted from the venue. Then she showed us around the venue and we were blown away. Especially when Lucy turned on the lights in the compass room. It was stunning with an amazing panoramic view. We knew it was the one. From that moment on, Lucy answered countless questions and emails efficiently and always encouraged us to ask her about anything. She was so willing to help!! She was informative and helpful and did everything she could to help give us our perfect wedding. We were able to go to the restaurant to food taste as well. On the day itself, the Lowry were flawless. The food was incredible, the Lowry looked phenomenal and our guests were taken care of. We were greeted with a smiling, helpful team from the Lowry who's aim was to be the best the could be. And they were. We have had countless compliments about the venue and food and have been told it was the best wedding they've been to. I would like to say thank you for Lucy and the rest of the team for making our day so special. You were perfection. Such a special daySuch a special day
We held our wedding (ceremony and reception) at the Lowry on 28 October. The venue is simply stunning, especially the compass room at the top where we held our reception. Lucy (our events planner) was amazing all the way through- knowledgeable, accommodating and always helpful. A real godsend especially as the day, and nerves, draws nearer. The staff on the day were also brilliant - again. always friendly, and organised. We can't thank them enough for making it such a special day. We have also had amazing feedback from so many guests who all had a great day - many stating it is the best wedding they had ever been too.We held our wedding (ceremony and reception) at the Lowry on 28 October. We held our wedding at the Lowry Theatre and Gallery in the spring of 2017. I'm sure that no-one writes a negative review about their own wedding venue, but we had such an amazing day at the Lowry - and the organisation and impressiveness of the venue really added to that. The Lowry might not look like an obvious wedding venue, but we would highly recommend that anyone thinking of getting married in central Manchester visits the Compass Room. It is a glass room perched at the top of the gallery, with stunning views of Salford Quays, and two balconies for guests to take a break from dancing! In combination with the incredible modern architecture of the building and the surrounding Quays, this is a really unique venue. The Lowry is also one of the few places in central Manchester which allows you to party until the early morning hours (in our case, last orders were just before 2am). The whole team at the Lowry was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. They were incredibly accommodating in letting our whole families visit to see the venues, and responded promptly to all of our queries. From our long organisational meeting with Lucy, who did a brilliant job of running the show, to the awesome woman manning the stage door when we dropped off our decorations, to Tracy and the coordinators on the day, everybody was friendly, efficient and great company. The team also accommodated our odd, unique wedding requests, such as drinks vouchers for favours and a very unwieldy table plan! As a final point, the food served at dinner was great quality - if you are reading this and planning to visit the Lowry, we would highly recommend stopping off at Pier Eight.We held our wedding at the Lowry Theatre and Gallery in the spring of 2017. The whole thing was just perfect.The whole thing was just perfect.
The room looked amazing when we walked in and the event managers helped make sure everything ran smoothly. Nothing was too much to ask and even when we had left the thank you cards at the other venue, some of the staff ran over and picked them up! We got married here yesterday (Sat 8th Sept 2018) Absolutely blown away with the entire experience right from the day we booked it 2yrs ago. Lucy Markey our wedding planner was an absolute delight to deal with,did everything she could to ensure we had the perfect day,cannot praise her enough,thank you so much Lucy. On the day the entire staff were amazing,special thanks to Frankie,Connie & Iain.Made our special day run so smooth,thank you so much guys,we will never forget all you did for us. As for the venue.....wow!!!! You really need to see it to believe it,no words really can describe how amazing it is. We had our wedding breakfast and reception in the Compass Room of The Lowry. The run up to the wedding went without a hitch, Lucy was great and was always there to answer any questions and did her best to cater for any special requests we had. When we arrived on the day and looked at the room, the staff had set everything up perfectly - exactly how I'd pictured it in my head. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Luckily, we had the most amazing sunny day for the wedding so as well as the room looking lovely and bright, we were able to make full use of the balcony which has amazing views of the quays. As the darkness came, the fairy lights came on which look beautiful and really were one of the reasons we chose the venue. The staff, food, service and venue were spot on and we're so happy we chose The Lowry for our wedding - I wish we could do it all over again!We had our wedding breakfast and reception in the Compass Room of The Lowry. Right from the off our experience of dealing with The Lowry has been positive. The events staff have been fantastic and the Compass room is simply amazing. We received so many compliments about the unique venue. The staff on the day were professional yet friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We really were made to feel special and that our day mattered to the staff as much as it did to us. Thank you to Lucy,Tracey and Megan as well as the bar staff, waiting on staff, security, front of house and everyone else who worked so hard to make our day go so smoothly. All of our requests were met and we would wholeheartedly recommend The Lowry to anyone and everyone who is planning a wedding. Over two years ago we visited The Lowry and was shown around all of the wonderful spaces that it has to offer, each room offers something different. We chose to have our welcome drinks in the Pier Eight room, lovely views and easily accessible for our less able guests. Followed by the Compass Room, this is at the very top of The Lowry. It is an amazing room that offers AMAZING views, balcony, beautiful room and fairy lights to top it off! From the very first interaction with Lucy and the team at a wedding fair to weeks after the wedding, it has been a pleasure. Most people who have been married speak of how stressful it can be. However, dealing with The Lowry and all its staff has been nothing but easy! Each and every query, problem and need was dealt with quickly! It made the run up to our big day super stress free! Our wedding day was everything we wanted and so much more! The rooms were perfect, drinks and food were great, staff were wonderful and our day ran PERFECTLY!!!
