Welcome to The Reading Room, a lovingly restored 17th century historic building located in the heart of the beautiful North Norfolk countryside. With its dramatic vaulted ceiling and chandelier, this bespoke venue will capture both your heart and imagination and is exclusively yours for the day. Easily accessible, we are located close to the stunning North Norfolk Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty, just 15 miles from the centre of Norwich. The Reading Room is an exclusive use venue that provides a unique atmosphere and intimacy for your special day. Licenced for Weddings and Civil partnership ceremonies, the venue seats 80 guests inside or in the garden as part of a duo ceremony, with additional guests welcome for the evening. We are ideally situated next to the ancient Church of St Ethelbert’s, and just a stone’s throw from many other gorgeous Norfolk Churches. Our magnificent walled gardens, surround The Reading Room with an abundance of old English flowers rich with wildlife. A meandering path through the woods leads to a pergola walkway covered in fragrant roses and honeysuckle. The lawns provide a perfect space for welcome drinks and canapes followed by fun garden games or just to sit and relax in the afternoon sun. As a family run wedding venue, we are passionate about creating your 'happily ever after'. We work closely with our selected Norfolk caterers who will create a bespoke menu from table feasts, afternoon teas and street food to formal dining, delivering a first-class service. The Reading Room creates a magical setting for your wedding day, with enchanting gardens and a truly special building full of history and character. The Reading Room a hidden gemThe Reading Room a hidden gem
The Reading Room was the one and only venue we visited when we were organizing our wedding, we instantly fell in love with it and were married at the beautiful venue on 15th June 2019. I’m not sure that there are enough words to describe how fantastic Jo, Simon and the Reading Room itself was for our special day. Nothing was a problem for Jo and Simon and we can’t thank them enough for all their help before, on, and after the day. Me and my husband got married here 12th October 2019 and had the most perfect wedding day. The weather was very kind to us and it just made it that extra bit special being able to enjoy our beautiful surroundings. The venue and grounds are absolutely stunning. We held our entire day at the Reading Room and cannot thank Jo and Simon enough for all of their help and input from suggestions to helping set up/clear down the following day. We would highly recommend this venue to any couple. All of our family and friends found it just as perfect as we did Thank you! We had our wedding ceremony and reception here at the weekend, 2nd September and it is a real gem of a building set in beautiful grounds, just what we were looking for. Jo and Simon are lovely, really helpful and let you have the freedom to style the day and venue how you want it. When the sun is shining the gardens are a pure joy. I can't recommend it enough. The most magical dayThe most magical day
The most magical day made perfect with the help of Simon and Jo! We had our wedding here on the 4th August and it was perfect. The setting was amazing and everything ran smoothly, communication was brilliant from day one and they helped in everyone way they could! I would highly recommend this venue for a special event! The most magical day The most magical day
Myself and James got married at The Reading Room on the 6th July, we had the most magical day. The venue itself is beautiful and the grounds are kept immaculate. From our first viewing of the venue we knew it felt special to us. We received lots of comments from our guests saying how amazing the venue was. We would like to say a massive thanks to Simon and Jo for making sure everything ran perfectly on our big day and for all of their help along the way. We would highly recommend the Reading Room as a venue to anyone looking for an intimate & picturesque venue. We had such an amazing day, just completely relaxed and chilled from start to finish. We knew over a year ago when we first walked through the garden that this was the place for us all, such a beautiful venue and from the start hosts who walked us calmly and professionally through every step. Simon promised us the day would run like clockwork and we wouldn’t have a thing to concern ourselves with apart from enjoying every moment of our daughter’s special day. A promise that went above and beyond , The Reading Room and it’s hosts exceeded all our expectations. The recommended caterers also were just brilliant, attentive , happy , lovely people....and of course the food was to die for!! Would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Can’t express how amazing Jo and Simon were before and during our wedding day - they were so lovely, helpful and (most importantly) calm. They helped set up everything and were so accommodating with how we wanted to decorate the venue, and how we planned to carry out the ceremony/reception. The Reading Rooms itself is an absolutely stunning venue and lends to an atmosphere that is cosy, friendly and fun. We found that everyone was able to mingle easily, and new friendships were even made! We had the time of our lives and can’t imagine a better place for our wedding day.
