At The William Cecil, our entire wedding service is totally focused around you - you let us know what you want for your special day and we make it happen. We believe in a truly unique experience for each of our couples, whatever the style or size of day you're planning. A beautiful garden marquee awaits or you can take your choice of two stunning reception rooms in the hotel itself.
Our wedding co-ordinator, Amy, will be there to support you in the planning, to talk you through the logistics, provide inspiration and offer advice.
We pride ourselves on tailoring each wedding to your bespoke needs. We want you and your guests to be hit with the ‘wow’ factor and enjoy the wonderful ambiance of the hotel while sampling some of our two AA Rosette award winning cuisine.

For your special day, we have two function rooms to choose from for your wedding breakfast. The first is our Marquee, which is set in our landscaped gardens and can accommodate up to 120 guests. The second, The Burghley Room, is situated in the main hotel building and can accommodate up to 60
seated guests. For your evening reception, we offer The Burghley Room with its own private bar and room for a band or DJ. With the hire of The Burghley Room, which will accommodate up to 120 evening guests, we include the adjacent Exeter Room, which offers a quieter space for those wanting to take a break from dancing and rest their feet.

The hotel is simply beautiful and definitely has that something extra if that’s what you’re looking for. The food was delicious and everything seemed to run smoothly. Nothing was too much for the staff and the rooms were beautifully decorated and clean we simply had the best wedding day we could’ve ever asked for. What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Take some time off to relax for a week or so before the big day and treat yourself to a pamper sessions. It will be over before you know it so make sure you enjoy every second, stress free.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Every guest had a postcard on their place setting with a personal message from the bride and groom, thanking them for coming and telling them exactly why they were so special to the couple.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The rose arch. It features in every wedding album, no matter the season.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Topside Lincoln Red beef, Yorkshire pudding, horseradish! A mini bite-sized roast.
