What about your business are you most proud of?
After a pretty rubbish 2017, I decided to follow a new creative path and started a course in Makeup Artistry. Within a few months of absolutely loving it, I left my full time job to pursue a career as a Makeup Artist and I built my business from the ground up. I created my own website, developed a presence on social media, and filled a gap in the market in my local area. As of 2019, I relocated to a totally new area and I'm incredibly proud of how my small business has grown and continues to do so.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Allocate 'tasks' to your wedding planner/coordinator, or members of the wedding party/friends/family on the morning of your wedding. Things like handing out buttonholes or being the person to call for directions etc. The last thing you need is to be answering phone calls, liaising with suppliers, and dealing with Uncle Bob 'cause he can't find your Auntie Margaret.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Skin care! Keep your skin hydrated and moisturised. If you don't already have one, I would highly recommend getting into a good skin care routine during the lead up to your wedding.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
You'll see from my reviews that most of my brides comment on my "calming influence". I simply blend in as part of your bridal party. If there's stress rising, I'll diffuse it - positive vibes only. From experience, I find that it's usually the Mum's and the Bridesmaids that like to have a freak out moment rather than the bride!
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Your makeup is applied to stay looking great throughout your special day, but here are a couple of helpful tips: 1. If you shed a tear (or twenty), blot under your eyes with a tissue rather than rubbing. 2. Ask one or all of your bridesmaids to be on 'lipstick check' duty throughout the day - they'll let you know if it needs a top up. 3. If you're prone to an oily t-zone, have some blotting paper or loose powder on hand in case you need to freshen up those areas later in the day.
