My best friend wedding back in May 2015. It was the first wedding cake I had done and it was a Naked cake with each tier a different flavour. Being a naked cake it could only be baked the day before and being a bridesmaid on top was a little stressful but it all turned out brilliantly and gave me the confidence boost I needed to take on more wedding cakes including my own in 2019.

I am most proud to be completely self taught. Over the 7 years I have been doing cakes I have learnt so much and gone from doing novelty birthday cakes to beautiful wedding cakes. This industry is always changing meaning there are always new techniques to learn which keeps you on your toes.

Remember it is YOUR day as nice as it is to get others opinions do what you both want.

When the bride and groom do something to surprise each other on their day making it very personal and creating another memorisable moment between them. This came be from a bride organising a grooms cake or a reveal section to the back of the cake. To organising for someone special to be there or even a surprise band or performer. I organised a surprise Mariachi Band for my husband to play us out of the ceremony into our drinks reception. They were brilliant he didn’t suspect a thing and it was a real talking point for guests.

Typically I will be contacted by a couple, we will start but discussing the basic theme of the wedding what sort of style cake they are looking for. They will normally have some photos of cakes they like. We will then discuss how to make there personalised to them, what colours, textures etc they wish to include. I would then send over a budgetary quotation and ask if they wanted to set up a consultation and tasting. If a sketch is needed I will produce this ready for the meeting where all details can be finalised. A booking fee would be taken and the balance paid per the terms of agreement.
