The beautiful sound of the harp creates an elegant atmosphere at any special occasion. Elinor provides a friendly and professional service and will guide you in planning for your wedding or event. Whether you have traditional tastes or prefer something more modern, with an ever expanding repertoire spanning centuries, styles and genres, Elinor is able to tailor music to suit your requirements and make your ceremony truly special. Additionally, Elinor plays the Scottish lever harp- the clarsach. This is Scotland's oldest heritage instrument and it's indivual sound is suitable for intimate venues and traditional folk music, as well as being portable enough for any venue. Elinor can also be booked to play alongside other instrumentalists including flute, violin, saxophone and singers. Elinor is happy to travel throughout the United Kingdom and can play indoors or outdoors (weather permitting). Elinor has public liability insurance and can provide a certificate upon request.

Traditional Irish folk to Lord of the Rings

We had our wedding ceremony in quite a large church space but were adamant that we wanted the sound of a single acoustic instrument to provide our music. The harp was perfect for the space and Elinor's playing was beautiful - she was happy to play all of our requests, from a traditional Irish folk piece to Lord of the Rings. It all worked perfectly and we would recommend Elinor without hesitation!

You helped make our day perfect!

I didn't hear you play much as I'd have liked (as for obvious reasons I was the last to arrive), but the feedback I have had from my now husband and many many guests that attended our wedding was that you played beautifully and how your music added to the ambience of the room in which we were married. Thank you so very much for playing some of the "less traditional" Music I asked for. I loved walking into Metallica's Nothing Else Matters being played beautifully by you, I'll honestly never forget that! Finally Darren loved the blast of Star Wars so Thank you yet again! He still says "I can't believe she did Star Wars, I LOVED IT"! Thank you once again, you helped make our day perfect!

I performed at one wedding where the groom was 40 minutes late...when he arrived it was by helicopter so he certainly made an entrance!

Try to enjoy planning the wedding- minor details can be stressful but on the day everything comes together, so enjoy the experience!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I like to discuss all the details with the couple via email or phone, and then thesis followed by a contract and deposit to secure the date. I can offer the couple advice on music choices for their ceremony or I am happy to take requests. About a month before the wedding I get in touch with the couple just to double check final details.
