My Big Day Events

We booked my big day events DJ Jason for our wedding day. This was a disaster to put it lightly. The main things that went wrong were: 1- Didn’t have our first dance song!!!! Played the wrong song before we were even on the dance floor!!! 2- Music cut out 3- Didn’t stick to playlist 4- Played dedications when I wasn’t around ( I was pretty easy to spot) 5- Played songs more than once. 1- This was devastating!!! Our first dance was ruined. Me and my new husband walked towards the dance floor and the dj Jason started playing “UB40- can’t help falling in love” before we had even got there. This is what Jason thought was our first dance. One, this should not have been played before we were on the dance floor, had it been our actual song. Two, it wasn’t even the right song!! This ruined the surprise of our song and also the special moment. So we had to stand around while the DJ put on another song for us. Very embarrassing and ruined what should have been our special first dance moment. Not only this we had to organise the DJ as he didn’t really know what to do. Luckily my sister managed to find the correct song and played it later for us. The frustrating thing was I spent hours before my wedding on my big day events website making sure they had my playlists and instructions for each song. There was no reason why they shouldn’t have had my music exactly how we asked. 2- The music and lights cut out, very unprofessional 3- I spent hours finding the right songs for my big day. I even put notes next to them to make sure he knew the genre and help to mix them together. But he didn’t stick to my playlist at all! He played numerous tracks I hadn’t chosen. And not many of my favourites. Music is a big part of my life so this was very important that I had my favourite songs on my big day. 4- I asked for “mr bright side- the killers” as a dedication to me and my twin. We have a dance we do together. So this is a very special song. Therefore I noted that this was a dedication and could he please play when I was in the dance floor (I was wearing a wedding dress- easy to spot). However, my twin told me later that he had dedicated it to us whilst I was in the toilet. Therefore I missed her reaction and we didn’t get to dance together. A simple request and special moment ruined in my big day. 5- He played songs more than once. To the point that it has now become a joke from my friends that we like “kooks- Naive” so much as it was played over and over again by the DJ. This is annoying as we had so many good songs on our request list that wasn’t played. We had to ask him on many occasions to change the genre as he would stick to certain music and clear the dance floor. It is pretty easy to see if the type of music being played isn’t going down well and to change it up abit. But the DJ needed a lot of help!! All in all our day was ruined by Jason’s service and we are disappointed in The big day event Management for allowing him to DJ our wedding if he didn’t know how. Also the fancy system on their website to add all your tracks doesn’t work as they didn’t use it for our big day. I wanted to post this so no one else has a disaster on their wedding day .

Adam and his team provided the LED dance floor for our wedding and the set up looked so professional and I have amazing pictures now 🙂🙂 brilliant service. We definitely recommend My Big Day Events for their outstanding service! Thank you 🙏

Adam and Gary were amazing. We used the Big Day Event for DJ and decoration. The process was very organised, with list of items available, update calls and web portal. We had a great night! Thank you!

Adam was flexible and understanding from the booking process, through to the planning meeting. Adam listened to everything we wanted, and we had ultimate trust in him and his services. He delivered everything as we asked and he really made the day special. He helped keep people at ease when they were about to deliver speeches, and assisted with a musical element of one of the speeches too. He did everything perfectly and we cannot thank him enough for all he did. I would highly recommend him to anyone. It was perfect!

Fantastic service by a great team. Both extremely accommodating and professional. Extremely good value for money and would use again anyday I can’t recommend Adam enough. I used this service for my wedding and both the set-up and music didn’t disappoint.

These guys know how to party & to be honest the Kardashian’s have nothing on my local dj! Everyone up dancing, all night long & then the photo booth was just another added bonus! Guys you’re amazing! Keep up the good work & helping everyone create such amazing memories!! Team work makes the dream work!!

I would highly recommend My Local Dj. We used My Local DJ for our wedding. Adam and Gary took down and fufilled all our requests prior to the wedding. They listened and gave great advice. Gary went beyond our expectations on the night and pulled out a version of one of our favourite songs that we had wanted played at the right tempo (as we had previously searched and searched but we're unsucessful)! It was such a nice touch to hear he had listened to what we had wanted ans absolutely got it spot on. The dance floor was full and people got up almost immediately after he started his set. I couldn't have asked for more and we can't wait for the next occasion we need a DJ!

Adams work is incredible. He really goes the extra mile to make sure you get everything from your day you could hope for and more. He's on hand every step of the way and not only provides a great and professional service but also recommendations and support in all areas of your day. He keeps the party going and everyone happy and is always happy, fun and friendly, it was not a hard choice of who to have as our DO for our wedding. He and his partner are both exceptional in their attention to detail, making sure you have the day of your dreams. I cannot thank them both enough for making the process so easy from the start. We're very excited to have them be a part of our day.
