As I only do 8 weddings per year, I actually enjoy everyone because I have the time to devote 100% into each, and getting to know each couple, everyone is a completly different event and unique in it's own way.
I try to deliver a record of the day to fill in all the gaps that my couple miss, and to be available to help with any questions they might want ask during the planning stages. I especially like to work with each couple beforehand to find out what they want, like, and more importantly don't like so that between us we work well together and they feel comfortable working with me.
Sit down with your photographer and let him understand what you want, and then understand that you have to support him with the correct planning to achieve your goal.
I always plan what to do in the event of rain, then you can always make the best of each day whatever the weather turns out to be on the day.
I am part of the team who teach photography at Folkestone Camera Club, and I was constantly being asked why people couldn't find a wedding photographer who would listen to what they wanted, and be there to help them while they were planning their event. I felt that this was a perfectly reasonable thing to expect and having helped several couples, I realised that if I could offer and enjoy each wedding, giving people what they wanted, then I should continue.
