Each wedding that I cover is different - no two are the same. Even though I have carried out photography at more than 250 weddings, I am pleased to say that I can remember at least one small thing from each one.
Patient, Unobtrusive, Reliable, Thoughtful, Professional
My ability to carry out all aspects of a job fully, professionally, and in a relaxed manner.
Allow more time than you think you will need for each aspect of you wedding day!
When photographing large groups, I ask everyone to initially close their eyes, and to open them on the count of three. "Three! Two! One! Open!". This ensures that they all have their eyes open at the same time (as well as getting them to stop chatting to the person standing next to them!).
Listening to the needs of the couple, and keeping a watchful eye on the events of the day to make sure that I capture what's required.
Make sure that anyone who may not be around in the near future, perhaps through age or ill-health, is included.
A 'trash-the-dress' shot the day after. The bride, groom, their daughter and their two dogs, all lying down in the very cold River Tawe at Craig-y-Nos Castle!
Anticipate bad weather in advance, and pre-arrange with the venue to have an area set aside for group/formal photos.
My background is computing, which included website design. I initially bought a camera to take photos to use on client's websites, and then discovered that I had an eye for photography, and very much enjoyed it. I now work full time as a photographer.
