If a couple like my style and my pricing fits their budget, I meet for a coffee to discuss their day and get to know them a bit. It's really important that I don't feel like a stranger on their wedding day as I need to make them feel comfortable. I include an engagement shoot for no extra cost as standard rather than charging extra for it as an add on. It's another time that I can get to know a couple better before having a really important role in their big day, it means they've have a large collection of beautiful images of themselves, but most importantly it's a great opportunity for them to see how relaxed they'll feel with my style of photography. I always find that couples who have opted for an engagement shoot are more relaxed in front of the camera on their wedding day because they've developed that extra bit of trust that I'm going to make them and their photos beautiful.

Sentimentally I think the first kiss is probably the most important, but personally my favourites are those taken a bit later on, usually around sunset, when I take the couple off for a mini photo session. Not only are these images always stunning, but it gives the couple a chance to have a breather and 15 minutes to themselves. I always make sure to shoot as candidly as possible during this time.
