What is your most memorable wedding?
A Scottish/Australian wedding - that lot knew how to party! I have never seen a dance floor so instantly flooded by so many people, it was immense.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, emotive, relaxed, spontaneous, unobtrusive.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I feel so honoured to have been chosen by all my lovely couples to photograph their love story - I'm an old romantic and it gives me all the feels to be a part of weddings.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure you find time for a stolen moment together, just the two of you, where you can take in the fact you just got married! Laugh about it, smooch over it, talk about what went on that morning; whatever is you, just be together for that moment. Then enjoy the party!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The best personal touches I've seen have often been the gifts that the couple have given each other. They are often so thoughtful and full of meaning and the reactions are so special to witness during prep in the morning.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once we have chatted over email a bit, or over the phone/skype if you would prefer, we get you booked in and then have a coffee/drink together nearer the big day to chat about the final details. Then I come join the day during the prep (I always recommend a second shooter to catch the other side) and follow the day as it happens.
What is the No.1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A photo of you both. Not a fan of PDAs? That's absolutely ok, whatever is you should be captured.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
The bride who wanted to take her dog for a walk. He was so incredibly special to them and was a huge part of the wedding day, so she wanted to create special memories with him.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
The weather is not what's important, you getting married is! So it rains, but you want outdoor photos. I'm game if you are.
Describe how you got into photography.
I have always been into photography, and when my kids came along, I didn't want to miss a moment. I have always been driven by emotion and once they were born I knew I wanted to capture all of theirs. That then lead to capturing the emotions and connections between families and then couples on their big day.
