Sam and Sarah at Anstey Hall. We got on so well with them and felt like part of the wedding when the day came round! It was a beautiful hot sunny day and everybody was in great spirits. It was a pleasure to be part of it.
Classy. Warm. Modern. Sophisticated. Thorough.
The photos are the only thing bought for a wedding which will live on with them throughout their lives. To be the ones who provide that is very special.
Meet the photographer/s and be at ease with who they are. If you aren't at ease with them, chances are you guests won't be either. Friendly faces and a warm, helpful attitude are as important as their ability to take a good photo.
This isn't one we photographed, but were guests at - the bride, groom and all their wedding party were dressed in medieval costumes. Amazing.
We chat either on the phone or via email, then arrange to meet up and have an informal chat. If they want to book, we ask for a deposit and book it in the diary. Prior to the wedding we visit the venue with the couple if they wish, and chat through any requests and make suggestions etc. After the wedding we usually say 2 weeks approx, and then we put a secure album online, and provide all hi res photos on a download link or disk if preferred.
To us, all those special moments throughout the day are the most important ones, because they tell a story, from start to finish, of their amazing day. That is what we aim to give couples - a beautiful photo story of their day, with all the little precious moments included.
We suggested an 'Evolution of man' photo for one groom and his grooms men - which worked brilliantly and was a cool, quirky touch.
Take pretty brollies and wellies. You can't stop it raining, so embrace it and have fun!
Nick studied photography at college along with graphic design. We now run our own graphic design company, Smoke Media, through which we also do a lot of commercial and corporate photography. So wedding photography is a natural thing to offer as an additional service, and its one of the most fun and rewarding!
