I usually meet up to show examples of my work and sample albums. Around two weeks before the wedding I will meet again to go through final timings etc and the day before I will visit the venue to check lighting and any work or changes that are going on to plan for them.
I don't think there is a one size fits all photo. Every couple is individual and one photo doesn't work for everyone.
It cant rain all the time. I've done many weddings in the rain and you always get a break. I did one in the Lake District and the couple wanted a shot of them both on the jetty looking across the lake. We got a 10 minute break and made the most of it to get the shot.
I was always really into photography. My wife and I were away with friends who were getting married abroad, the professional wedding photos were poor and she knew I had taken photos. She was over the moon with them and it snowballed from there.
