There have been quite a few, mainly due to those couples being so well matched. I've photographed one wedding where everyone cried, including the registrars! The couple (one a music teacher) arranged a surprise pop up choir of their musical guests...who were positioned in different sections of the seating. The initial soloist being joined every two lines with more voices, a stunning experience. I can still shoot with tears rolling, but seeing the registrars wiping their eyes too was a first for me.
Natural, emotional, fun
That I am achieving what I set out to do with my photography and that I really enjoy it!
I like to phone or meet first to understand what you would like and how we could work together. When I am booked I stay in touch every quarter and I'm happy to take calls, answer questions etc. Around two months before your wedding I arrange your engagement session, shoot the session and let you know when to expect to see the images. As your wedding gets closer I stay in touch, do venue visits (if its not a venue I've photographed at recently) confirm details with you ahead of your day.
As I often do engagement shoots and my couples get to know me so I receive some fun requests. One couple wanted a photo of them both asleep in armchairs in front of the big fireplace in their venue..complete with slippers etc..it made a great thank you card to send to their guests who really loved to party.
Enjoy your day, there are plenty of ways to work around wet weather.... and it can make some great images, leave that to me. I've worked with venues who will do whatever they can to help, confetti indoors, clearing spaces Ive asked for etc. There are lots of ways to be creative with photos and keep you dry......(I'm often the only one getting wet:)
Really early, my father is a good photographer (he used to photograph weddings) so I was coached. I shot on film for years (still do sometimes) changed to digital and went further into live music and gig photography. Music fans asked me to shoot their weddings - guess what - I love it!
