The Grannies getting flowers during the speeches as well as the Mums... adorable!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Lots of chatting via email or socials in the first instance, and where location/distance allows, I love to meet first and chat over cuppa! Couples are welcome to my home to play around with samples and ideas in person and meet me, the maker! When everyone is happy and decided, then payment is arranged. Work will start, proofs are sent and approved, multiple proofs are sent at no charge if necessary, and the couple is kept posted with regular pictures and updates from the moment I order in supplies til the moment they receive their shipment. I love to send progress updates whilst I make their stationery.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
Invitations hands down. I feel they get the most attention. Save the Dates will probably get looked at once, the on-the-day stuff at the table will be out-performed by the bride, groom, food, entertainment and the fact most guests will be tipsy by the time they see it! But the invites tell everyone what they need to know, they'll be looked at on several occasions, shown to family and friends and more than likely kept as keepsakes. They're also the very first glimpse people get of your wedding, before the dress or venue or anything, they're the first hint! It's so important to nail them!
What is your best seller?
I have a few: my mini envelope bridal party proposals, my Highland Cow Gatefold invitation suite featuring my own original coo artwork, and my adorably worded morning of the wedding cards for mum and dad of the bride. They are all amazing sellers.
What is the most innovative delivery method you have come across?
I often walk the dog to local customers' houses... eco-friendly, healthy, time-effective and cost-effective way of dis-pawtching my orders!! If they are not local, I will ship items in re-used boxes. If the box is the right size I'll use it, whether it was a box for an old radio or for a coffee machine, a box is a box right? It's the lovliness inside that counts.
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
I love to add a personal, heart felt note to every single order I make. Because I genuinely love all my customers.
