On the doorstep of the South Downs National Park, with its green rolling pastures, open spaces, ancient woodlands and river valleys Amberley Castle has been used exclusively by royalty, politicians and VIPs throughout its history. 12 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens (roamed by a resident white peacock) set the scene and the castle is still completely enclosed by a high curtain wall, with the medieval stonework forming an evocative backdrop to your special day. Venture inside and you are greeted by 900 years of history - suits of armour stand to attention, intricate coats of arms tell tales of previous residents and original stonework frames every aspect. Fine fabrics and beautiful antiques complete the setting along with roaring log fires in the winter months. Fill the rooms with your nearest and dearest and you have all the ingredients for a truly magical wedding day.

Exactly what we wantedExactly what we wanted
We were looking for something small and all in one place for both ceremony and reception - something that was fitting to the scale of our intimate wedding with 20 guests. The castle surrounding is fairy tale perfection and full of photo opportunities; the ceremony room was the perfect size for us not to feel cramped and was transformed into a beautiful dining room for our evening meal. The team led by Dean our co-ordinator were so supportive and went above and beyond to make our perfect day a reality and were very accommodating for us and our guests. They also had a substantive list of local suppliers for cakes, flowers, photography etc and this was essential to us as we were not local and only had 20 weeks to organise everything. Travel Notes

From Arundel Follow the signs to London, after four miles you will come to a roundabout. Take the third exit signposted to Amberley B2139. In Amberley pass the station on the right side and look for the Union Flag on the left, which clearly marks the entrance of the driveway to Amberley Castle.
