Berkeley Castle in Gloucester, on the edge of the Cotswolds, is a magnificent medieval fortress. A luxury weekend wedding venue. Exclusively yours for Your wedding at Berkeley Castle will be unique and tailored to you and your fiancee, our friendly professional wedding coordinators will guide and advise you every step of the way, from your very first meeting through to the big day itself. Whether you choose to host a civil ceremony in our grand Great Hall seating upto 130 guests or marry in a more intimate ceremony in the romantic Long Drawing Room for 70, walk down the aisle amongst the magical backdrop of Berkeley Castle. There is no set way to host a wedding at the Castle, only many enchanted spots to enjoy. Beautiful views await you while you are served drinks on the Gun Terrace and Lower Lawns, while the terraces boast wonderful rose boarders on the way to our tranquil Lily pond. Live music is welcomed so why not arrange for live music to set the scene for your drinks reception. Thinking of an autumn or winter wedding? The Drawing Rooms offer a wonderfully romantic spot with roaring fires to warm your guests. Guided Tours of the Castle are a fantastic way to break the ice between your guests or entertain them whilst you sneak off for some private photos, plus they are complimentary and can be arranged at one of the meetings with your wedding coordinator prior to the big day. Invite upto 130 of your closest family and friends to help celebrate your marriage in our Great Hall for your Wedding Breakfast. With a vaulted ceiling, striking tiled flooring and stunning stained glass windows, sit back and soak in the day while our caterers tempt you with all manner of delicious cuisine, with menu's carefully created by you and your fiancee alongside the expert team at Napier Catering. Dance the night away with your guests before being whisked away to Blossom Cottage, the honeymoon suite, with a tasty champagne breakfast waiting for you in the morning.

We got married on 6th July 2019 at Berkeley Castle, it was a magical day. They staff at the castle are all amazing and made sure our day ran smoothly. We loved working with the team at Berkeley, Pippa and Jenny work so well to ensure you have the best day of your lives. All of our guest still say today how special the venue was on our wedding day, and we can see why, the castle is beautiful and really makes your day feel even more wonderful. A wedding in castle, not many people can say they got married in a castle. Everything about the day was perfect. I can not thank the team at Berkeley Castle enough for making our day so special. Nothing was too much, they were completely into our day as much as we were, professional, helpful, incredibly coordinated down to every second and the communication from them was great. We didn’t do the traditional wedding day and asked to change a lot of the dynamics around, it worked seamlessly, thanks to them. It’s been six months and guests from our wedding still talk about the castle and the team. I would highly recommend Berkeley Castle as a wedding venue. Absolutely perfect. From the moment we drove up the driveway and saw the Castle for the first time we knew we’d found our venue. It was perfect. We told ourselves that we shouldn’t rush in and pick the first venue we saw and proceeded to visit a couple more but we knew we’d already made our decision. At each stage Pippa and Jenny were there to support and guide our decisions. They have so much experience and are willing to share their thoughts and offer advice without taking away from your individual day. They were a joy to work with and made everything so easy. On the day everything’s run so smoothly, you wouldn’t even have know they were there. Now that life is slowly returning to normal, we just wanted to thank you, in particular, and your team, for making Rachael and Tim's wedding such a memorable experience. The whole day was so enjoyable and ran so smoothly, that it is difficult to know how things could have gone better. We also realise how much hard work goes on behind the scenes to achieve such a level of excellence, so thank you; and for marshalling us and our guests, and acting as MC, so kindly and effectively - a difficult balancing act that you appear to achieve effortlessly! What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Message in a Bottle - where you have 3 wine bottles, one that says "1 year" one that says "5 years" and one that says "10 years". Guests are invited to write a message to put inside one or all of the bottles. It is lovely to think of the messages that the couple will be reading in 10 years time, especially from those that perhaps are no longer with us.

There to many to mention .... but Jenny's favourite is on the Lower Lawn with the Castle in the background and Pippa's is on the little bridge that leads into the woodland.

Many lords, ladies and royal's have visited Berkeley Castle over the years and the Shakespeare play "A Midsummer Nights Dream" is even said to be inspired by a Berkeley family wedding.
