As one of only a cluster of Hand Picked Hotels in the UK, Crathorne Hall is an exclusive, four red-star property with a one AA rosette restaurant, ensuring the highest possible standards for your special day.
We only ever host one wedding a day, so the bride and groom feel truly special, and there is also the option of hiring the hotel for exclusive use – so you really can treat it as your own.
Our beautiful Edwardian Room is ideal for larger groups while the President’s Lounge provides a more intimate setting perfect for our ‘Just the two of us weddings’.

- KKelly & Adam11/10/2019Everything was absolutely perfect...Everything was absolutely perfect...Everything was absolutely perfect (including the weather!) and we had the most amazing time. I knew we were going to be in good hands but it was everything we wanted and more. We were behind with timings but we weren’t rushed at all which was great, even though I know that obviously the kitchen staff have other events going on too. Nathan was brilliant - he prompted us when things were due to start but when we asked for a little more time, he was more than accommodating. Nothing was ever too much trouble either. We had so many comments that the wedding breakfast was the best wedding food a lot of our guests had ever had. We had no complaints from anyone and guests are still getting in touch now to say that they had a great time.Everything was absolutely perfect (including the weather!) and we had the most amazing time. The whole process from our first meeting up to the big day was made soo easy and fuss free by your organisation and kindness - we really couldn't have done it without you. The day was perfect from start to finish, a huge thank you to Mo who had everything under control and did everything we asked for and more! He is a star!! The rooms looked perfect and totally exceeded my expectations of how I wanted them to look, I was blown away! All the staff are amazing and not just on the wedding day but throughout the whole time we have been planning our wedding, every time we have visited Crathorne hall we have been met by lovely polite and helpful staff who can't do enough for you! Thank you all! I don't really know what else to say but thank you thank you thank you!!! You are all amazing! The entire staff at Crathorne Hall made the experience stress-free and helped in every way possible. I appreciated everything you did from finding trusted vendors, giving travel tips, and even finding somewhere to steam my dress after a 10 hour flight. I knew a destination wedding was going to be fun, but Crathorne is a special venue. Every time we turned a corner we found a happy family member or close friend. The entire weekend felt like one big celebration. I will remember this experience in vivid detail for the rest of my life. We will be back for anniversaries time and time again.As an international bride, it was a challenge to plan a wedding long distance. They went above and beyond to not just make the day perfect, but help reduce the stress. Rather than (lazily) be busy doing what we wanted, they were better than that. They understood what we were after and made sure there were some things handled and done we hadn’t thought of, and without worrying us with it. Fantastic effort, it really was. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb and of course it goes without saying Crathorne Hall itself is just stunning. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
When I first started here at Crathorne, I took over a wedding from my predecessor which was two gentlemen that took the hotel for the full weekend.
They were very much a foodie and had quite specific requests and although the wedding itself wasn’t huge in numbers it was very particular for each day. They arrived the day before all of their guests to relax before the full weekend, then the Friday when all the guests arrived they had a buffet with items specific to the local area with a murder mystery theme in the hotel lounge, the following day they had their ceremony on the afternoon followed by champagne afternoon tea with all their guests. They then all retired to their bedrooms to get ready for the dinner on the evening which they had a seven course menu. They had given our chef free range with 4 of the courses with specifics they had chosen for the other courses, finishing with an individual mini 3 tier wedding cake per person. With a band to lead them into the late evening. The following morning they all met for breakfast to talk about the day and night before, before departing the hotel on the afternoon. They were a delight to work with and gave some lovely feedback from them and their guests following their wedding.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
To make sure that you are organised with all of your wedding planning but to also remember to have fun at the same time it should be an enjoyable experience. It is your special day and needs to be focused on the two of you!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The stone steps in our woodland area framed by stone griffins with the grand hotel featuring as the backdrop has got to be a favourite, especially in the spring time with the carpet of bluebells adding a pop of the season to the shot!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We are always very discrete with regards to our wedding couples and everyone is made to feel like a celebrity for the day!
What’s your favourite canapé?
As we are situated in North Yorkshire, our favourite canape has to be Mini Toad in the Hole with Shallot Jus, featuring the Yorkshire pudding and locally sourced sausages. The perfect treat for weddings all year round!
