Description

The East Quay is a wedding and event venue located on the East side of Whitstable harbour. The building, which was originally home to the Seasalter and Ham Oyster Fishery Company, sits at the end of the Quay ideally located for the fisherman. Today, the building retains is coastal heritage through photos on our bare brick walls. We have our own private shingle beach area, perfect for your guests to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and an infamous Whitstable sunset. As part of The Whitstable Oyster Company, we produce our own oysters. At low tide you can see our oysters beds, and during the afternoon our farmers can be found grading, sorting and washing the oysters at the East Quay site. After three years of hard graft the oysters are ready for purification before being distributed to our businesses. Why not offer your guests a selection of freshly shucked, battered or alcoholic oysters during your drinks reception? Inside the building we have a mezzanine level licensed for civil ceremonies, a dance floor complete with a fish tank DJ booth, fully licensed bar, open plan kitchen and a dinning area with direct sea views.

We have two dedicated Event Managers, one Wedding Coordinator, and two receptionists who are contactable 7 days a week. We, as a team, believe in assisting our couples in making their day the best it can be. Everyone has individual beliefs and ideas of the ‘perfect day’ and we aim to understand and characterise this as best we can. We aim to ensure every couples wedding is as unique and individual as our venue is.

Just amazingJust amazing
Having my wedding at the Eastquay was the best decision we made. The venue is stunning. The staff and wedding planner were so brilliant and helpful. The guest commented on how amazing the food was! Imagine a warm Summers day, the wedding couple on the beach having a group photo of the family having a paddle in the sea, whilst inside the rustic and historic building is bustling with laughter, live singers in the beach front events area... and that's just the venue. The wedding management team really are amongst the finest with a fantastic hardworking and supportive team behind them. If you are looking for an idyllic coastal wedding venue then the East Quay should be at the top of your list. Very popular and very much in demand. Wow, what a place! Amazing location, quirky which sold it to us. Not many places have a beach next door. Incredibly lucky with the weather. Food was fantastic. Clare and the team were absolutely incredible for our wedding. nothing was too big an ask for them. The wedding itself was a dream , the venue is absolutely beautiful , all of our guests have commented on how different it is ! What an incredible venue! It’s a unique venue for a wedding, miles away from the traditional and tired stately home. The staff were fantastic and our wedding organiser couldn’t be more accommodating. We’ve got so many great memories from our wedding day, so many great photos of the venue and the sunset over Whitstable in the evening and all our guests loved it. What an incredible venue! Me & my now husband had the most beautiful, fun & personal day for our wedding. It looked beautiful & the staff were amazing, especially our wedding planner. From beginning to end, our wedding at East Quay was simply the best. The venue is fantastic. Great location, efficient and friendly staff, super food and extremely well organised and professional. These guys and girls know what they’re doing. Our event manager was helpful, friendly and flexible. The venue is quirky, a good size, yet cosy and is right on the beach.
