Description

Set in stunning surroundings, our facilities, including the beautiful oak-timbered 19th century Fison Barn and secluded courtyard, provide a unique and picturesque canvas for you to create your wedding day your way. Just ten miles from Oxford, the Earth Trust Centre can accommodate up to 200 guests in its stunning Fison Barn, adjacent Poem Tree bar and catering area, and the herb-scented courtyard. Fison Barn, can seat 85 people or accommodate 200 standing. We can provide circular tables and chairs or you are welcome to provide your own. The barn is equipped with audio visual equipment so that you can share your stories and dance the night away. The courtyard provides a wonderful backdrop for open-air blessings, reception drinks or the occasional hog-roast. It’s also suitable for marquee hire if you want an additional weather-proof space for your guests. There's a further indoor area adjacent to Fison Barn, which is ideal for catering and serving drinks. Best of all, you can decorate any or all of these areas - the barns and courtyard - as you wish the day before your wedding, and leave all the tidying up until the day after. And if your guests would like to stay over after the wedding, we have a camping area for them to use.

Included in the venue hire price are tables and chairs and a basic kitchen facility. We also include the day prior to set up and 2 hours the following day to pack down. There is no corkage fee from the venue.

I photographed a stunning wedding here last summer, and was so impressed by the venue. The barn had been beautifully decorated by the couple, and is the perfect canvas to create the right look for your wedding. They had also set up a marquee in the courtyard, which added to the versatility of the venue. As requested by the couple, we walked up the Clumps with all the guests, which created even more great photo opportunities, with views I don't think you can find anywhere else. As a supplier there are some venues that are an absolute pleasure to work at and this is one of them. A real blank canvas of a venue that allows you to put your own personal touch on your special day plus. As a DJ I turn up later in the day but the staff and the layout make it all run so smoothly. We also install lighting at the venue and are allowed to get really creative especially in the courtyard. Nothing is too much trouble for Janet on the lead up and the day of an event. Thoroughly recommend viewing this venue.As a supplier there are some venues that are an absolute pleasure to work at and this is one of them. We absolutely loved having our wedding reception at Fison Barn, it was the perfect venue for us. We had viewed a few places before Fison Barn and the reason we picked it is because it was a blank canvas, the venue size was perfect and that the money for the venue hire is going to the charity. Having the barn for set up on the Friday all day and take down on Sunday was also a massive selling point as we felt we weren't hiring from a wedding machine (like other venues we had viewed), and we had the time to make it our own space. I have been in my element over the last few months making all of the decorations we had. I now need a new hobby! The tea and coffee and biscuits were a lovely surprise on the Friday. Leading up to the day you've been incredibly helpful and answered our questions really promptly which was great when we were ticking 101 things off a list. Noel was also a great help on the Friday and Sunday, please pass on our thanks. We absolutely loved having our wedding reception at Fison Barn, it was the perfect venue for us. A magical dayA magical day
It really was such an amazing magical day, the weather was absolutely stunning and we were so happy with the way everything went to plan. Thank you so so much for all your help in the lead up to the big day, during the set up up and on the day its self. We were really grateful of everything you did, it really was the most perfect place to celebrate our wedding. All of your help with suppliers worked out really well too. The caterers provided an excellent service and were so accommodating with all our requests, from coming up with the perfect menu to setting up on the day and sourcing any extras for us. Also the idea about giving the hay to the donkey sanctuary was brilliant, we loved the idea of helping the local animals! Your help on the day before on the set us was great too when the cheese delivery nearly didn't turn up, it was a real comfort to know you were on hand to help us out. We'd also like to thank Noel for his help on site, he really is a great character and was so enthusiastic and helpful. A real asset to Fison barn. We really did have an amazing time, setting up for the wedding and on the day itself. We loved turning the venue into our own and putting our own identity in it. The barn was just the right setting for our wedding reception. As soon as we saw it we loved it. Set in the countryside opposite the Wittenham Clumps Fison barn was a wonderful setting for a perfect day.
