Description

You have the whole place to yourselves for the whole weekend or mid week, so you can set up the day before and go to sleep happy. You have access from 2pm the day before till 2pm the day after so plenty of time to enjoy your guests the next day, why not have a brunch the next day or even stay another night?! You can have a dinner or bbq the night before in our summer house and gardens and then for the big day they're so many choices! Get married in the Walled Garden or the Ballroom or even the Summer House. Drinks on the lawn or in our Cellar Bar the options are endless. You can choose your own caterers and have the day you want your way. We can seat 150+ for an outdoor ceremony or 100 inside. For Dinner we can seat 160 in our marquee which is attached to the hall so you don't need to go outside to get to it, or 60 in the Ballroom, for a more intimate dinner you can seat 30 in the Summer House or 22 in the Dining Room. You can bring in your own wine for dinner too! We have in house bars so we will take care of the rest. We offer you full help and support through planning and if you don't believe how much we love our jobs just look us up on TripAdvisor! The reviews speak for themselves. IT WAS THE BEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFEIT WAS THE BEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE
I was fortunate enough to get married at Garthmyl Hall this July and to say it was the best weekend of my life would be an understatement! We spent weekend after weekend travelling from London to the Cotswolds looking for the perfect country house wedding venue and were continuously disappointed; a lot of venues either act like it's a wedding factory and have a wedding every day or most of the full weekend venue options are crazy money! After trawling though articles like 'best wedding venue in the UK' etc and much much searching i found Garthmyl and I thought it looked great but i'd been burnt by online photos many times before! Either way, we decided to take the 4 hour trip from London to Wales and i'm SO glad we did. The moment we rolled up the driveway to the house i knew that this was a special venue, every single element of Garthmyl is just like a fairytale. From the 10 hugeeeee bedrooms decorated to an incredible standard, just like a five star hotel; to the ballroom and the UNDERGROUND CELLAR BAR (yep!) it's amazing. If I wasn't sold already, when we walked through the beautiful grounds to the secret walled garden, filled with incredible flowers, i knew i had to get married there! Every single guest at my wedding said it was the best wedding venue they had ever been to in the UK and I wholeheartedly agree. Every element has been thought about, so many of the old country house venues don't have enough space for weddings of 100+ to fit in one room comfortably but as Garthmyl has a marquee actually built onto the side, it makes it the PERFECT space. What also makes Garthmyl particularly special is without a doubt Julia and her team. Julia is so easy to get along with and was on hand throughout the whole wedding planning process to happily answer any queries big and small, she is also just a really cool, genuine person who cares so much about Garthmyl and your wedding. She will do everything to make sure you have the perfect day. No words can explain how perfect Garthmyl Hall is, but I'll try. From the second I saw it on Coco wedding venues' website, I knew it was the only place I wanted to visit, and the only place I wanted to get married. From the very first contact with Julia - the owner and absolutel heart and soul of the place - I knew we were in good hands. She was kind enough to return my enquiry call on her day off to let me know the date we wanted was available and that she'd hold it for us. Our initial visit confirmed everything I'd gathered from the gorgeous and informative website- the venue was STUNNING. Well styled and decorated, clean, unique, every last detail catered for and looked after. Julia's vision and drive is absolutely spot on. Her friendliness (and fashion sense!) bowled us over. We booked immediately and practically skipped home. In the lead up, every single email, query, pondering - no matter how big or small - was responded to helpfully and quickly. Julia really does have it sussed and she's an absolute star at what she does. The weekend itself is one I just want to relive and relive over and over. I honestly cannot stress enough how perfect it was, from the welcome hug on the driveway with a genuinely excited Julia, the light up welcome sign with our names in it, and the freedom to just run around exploring like excited children at a their first sleepover without feeling like we were in someone else's home- it truly felt like it was ours and we loved that feeling. Julia dove right in, helping us to unload our van, and then taking on anything we asked of her, even the boring confetti cone filling, whilst chattering away with our wedding party about all sorts of randomness. What I hadn't realised was just how attentive she was, and how much she'd made notes on for helping with the things that needed doing on the Saturday itself. I had complete and utter trust and faith in her and the lovely, lovely team to carry out every last little thing that I had zero control of on the next morning- and they absolutely delivered. The night before, we had the most lovely evening with friends who came to Garthmyl for tea, and again, just felt like it was ours we were welcoming them to. Not once did we feel like we couldn't do something we wanted to for fear of overstepping rules of the venue, like some places can make you feel. The day itself- perfection personified. We had the wedding of dreams, and the day we'd dreamed of in the most beautiful, breathtaking venue ever. Julia was there the whole time and felt more like a bridesmaid than anything else- she was just so on hand with getting things done and giving cuddles and kisses when she popped in to see me! Nothing was too much trouble. Nothing wasn't already thought of or done already. We had the best day in the whole world with the team providing the friendliest and most efficient service that only added to our wedding. Breakfast the next day was delicious, and again the lovely staff at the Hall were on hand to cater for everyone and their needs. The only part I would fault would be saying goodbye. Packing your wedding up after so much anticipation and excitement is utterly crap, but saying goodbye to someone you genuinely adore and wish you could stay friends with forever is just as hard! When we got engaged in September 2017, the hunt for our dream wedding venue was on. We came across Garthmyl Hall online and arranged a visit straight away. A 3.5 hour journey from London was worth every minute and we immediately fell in love with the hall, grounds and views of Wales. This was the only venue we visited and decided we didn't need to see anything else so booked our wedding date for September 2018. All of the rooms at Garthmyl Hall are so beautifully decorated, all with vintage touches but incredibly modern. There are hidden treasures throughout, including the walled garden, summer house and the cellar bar- when we saw this we knew it would be the perfect place for drinks with our guests. When our wedding weekend arrived, we couldn't have imagined such a warm welcome from Julia, Andy and the team. They were on hand to help us with with everything from setting up the marquee. Nothing was too much to ask and we are so grateful for this. The wedding day itself could not have gone any more perfectly, Julia and team again were amazing, making sure everything went to plan. The guests were completely wowed by Garthmyl hall and it's beauty. Our immediate family and the bridal party stayed with us at the venue for the weekend and all of them LOVED it just as much as we did. The breakfast the morning after the wedding was very tasty and a great time for us to share stories of the day before. It really was great having somewhere where our nearest and dearest could stay with us. It was the most magical day, one we will remember forever and we can't wait to go back and visit. I really don't think you will ever read a bad review about Garthmyl Hall. And we can't thank Julia, Andy and her team enough for making our wedding weekend so special. Garthmyl was the first venue we had booked to view. We just knew from the moment we arrived there that this was the place we wanted to celebrate with friends and family. It has a truly magical feel to it. Julia was there every step of the way, there isn't a problem too big or small for this lady and her team. Anything you need advice or help with, they can sort it. Everyone at the hall go above and beyond to help make your day run as efficiently as possible. We were lucky enough to have had beautiful weather on the day and got married in the walled gardens. If there was a change in wether, Julia had a plan B ready. She's always prepared. Each and every guest was overwhelmed by the beautiful setting and grounds. They kept asking us how did we find such a stunning venue. Every room at Garthmyl is dressed to perfection. All individually decorated and immaculate! There's just so much opportunity and options at Garthmyl Hall to make your wedding day a dream come true. Whatever you can think of, you're able to create it here. The cellar bar went down a treat with our guests. It makes me smile just thnking about the fun we had. Live music, drinks and dancing until the early hours made the perfect ending to a very perfect day. Sunday morning breakfast was such a lovey treat. Sat around the table in the beautiful dining hall was fantastic. Chatting away, and reliving the day before, not wanting it to end. There's one downside, you feel so sad leaving!! When the time come to pack up and go, you feel like you're leaving your home and family behind. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

We had a 3 day wedding that had a big dinner in the Summer house the night before then the day itself they got married in the walled garden followed by a live sax player and loads of amazing live music and cocktails. In the evening they had the Cellar bar turned into the 'Rave Cave' which was like being in a club in Ibiza! The next day a long late brunch with bloody mary's and more music this time on the lawn for a festival themed day which was called 'Sequin Sunday' they had a bbq, booze, games and then went back into the 'Rave Cave' it was so great. The guests didn't want to leave and I cried when they did!

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Try not to think too much about what your guests want and get lost in that, remember its your day so you guys have to be happy first.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

The Bride had lost her dad so her little brother gave her away (he was about 8) and did an AMAZING speech too!
