Description

Established in 1880 as a Victorian Pleasure Garden, The Larmer Tree is now home to a muster of peacocks and a pair of Macaws. The garden is the perfect setting for a relaxed and informal, quintessential English Country Wedding. There is a choice of quirky licensed buildings for your Civil Ceremony and depending on guest numbers, from just 2 to 150, we have total flexibility to host your celebration all year round. Menus can be discussed with our in-house caterers and designed to suit your taste and budget. From plated formal dining, to sharing platters or barbecues, you can tailor the style of food to the theme of your day. Celebrate in the company of your family and friends with pimms, deck chairs and garden games in high summer; or with mulled cider, hot canapés and roast venison in deepest winter. Whatever the weather or season, you can dine in the elegant New Pavilion and dance until midnight in the comfort of the historic Jubilee Hall. If you like the idea of a more intimate celebration, we can offer a Secret Garden Wedding. These are held midweek Monday to Thursday, for a maximum of 30 guests. You are welcome to use any one of the buildings for your ceremony and we provide a marquee on the main lawn for your reception with garden furniture, garden games and deck chairs. Peacocks and free flying Macaws complete the magical atmosphere. Each wedding has the services of one of our 4 professional wedding co-ordinators, who will help you plan your perfect celebration and then ensure that your wedding day will be unforgettable.

What do you get for your money? A dedicated wedding planner to work with you from the day of booking, to the day of your wedding. One of us will carry you through the process providing advice and guidance to keep you sane, it’s a joyful experience, not a stressful one. We will run the day so that you can relax and trust that we are on hand, from start to finish. Easels, boards and printing. Don’t go buying an easel that you’ll never need again. We have easels and boards, if you run out of time we can also print your running order, seating plan, table numbers and menu cards. It’s the place cards that are down to you. Oh we have table name holders too – chrome or wooden? Exclusive use? That means you have private hire and it will only be you and your guests on site, no-one else and do we have more than one wedding a day? NO WAY. Inside or Out? If doesn’t matter, we plan for the best and have a rehearsal a day or two beforehand. We have our beautiful Jubilee Hall for the ceremony if the weather lets you down (many prefer it) and our stunning Pavilion for dinner come rain or shine, it’s mostly glass and wonderfully light. We don’t like hidden extras. All prices quoted include VAT, include tables and chairs, linen tablecloths and napkins, all crockery and cutlery and the full complement of a water glass, red and white wines glasses at dinner. We also include smiling waiting staff. We Also Provide: 12m x 6m Chinese Hat Marquee for the reception on the main lawn, Garden Games, Deck Chairs, Umbrellas, Cake Table, Knife & Stand, Candles, Fire Pit and lots of twinkly fairy lights.

Just wow!! Our wedding day was the most special day ever and I can’t recommend highly enough. Our wedding planner Rebecca was outstanding all the way through and helped with everything including last minute changes. She was great with communication and made everything run so smoothly. From the minute I stepped foot in larmer tree all the staff including Gail and Carol made us feel so welcome and the venue is just stunning. If you want a relaxed beautiful wedding then book here. Simply stunning and beautiful and the food, well that was outstanding the catering team forking out are so helpful and catered for everything we wanted. We cannot thank the staff at the Larmer tree gardens enough! Every one from start to finish couldn’t not of made our day more perfect. The perfect spot!The perfect spot!
My husband and I wanted a venue that was private and intimate for us and our guests and the Larmer Tree was absolutely perfect! We had a stunning outdoor wedding surrounded by beautiful flowers followed by a drinks reception with live music playing on the stage. The catering staff were phenomenal! All of our guests commented how they were never without a drink or a canapé. We were then escorted inside for an incredible three course meal which was all timed perfectly. We then danced the night away with a live band, drinks, cakes, a fantastic firework display and sparklers and marshmallows around the fire pits. It was the most romantic day in such a beautiful setting. We were able to create an intimate feeling for our 80 guests with so many personal touches. Nicki is an asset to the team. From the day we decided to get married at the Larmer Tree Gardens we knew we were in safe hands. Gail the wedding planner was absolutely fantastic in making suggestions and giving us ideas on how to make our wedding the best it could be. The whole process was incredibly smooth running and stress free, as was the day itself. We really couldn't have asked for any more and the venue was absolutely stunning on the day. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Larmer Tree to anyone looking for a relaxed/outdoor themed wedding. Our guests loved playing garden games in the afternoon and we ended up playing rounders outside well in to the evening. Perfect, personalised day- such a wonderful venue.Perfect, personalised day- such a wonderful venue.
Larmer Tree Gardens is fab. The in-house wedding team are superb and their experience in providing personalised weddings shows. Our day was perfect and exactly what we wanted. The grounds are set up perfectly and make for beautiful photos. We were married outside with a fabulous jazz band providing the music. We had lawn games and cocktails on the lawn after the ceremony and a wonderfully delicious sit down meal provided by their in house caterers. The meal was tailor made to our tastes and no request was too much - they made every effort for us and we were so grateful. After dinner we had a roam around the grounds in the evening light and then ended the day with a dance. I didn't want it to end. Overall- we are so pleased that we found such around romantic and secluded venue to celebrate our wedding in. Gail and her team are amazing, and we will be forever grateful for our special memorable day. Thankyou!Larmer Tree Gardens is fab. We wanted an xmas wedding and nothing was too much trouble for Gail and her team - so we married on 23rd December! We wanted candles, xmas decorations, a xmas tree - and they provided the lot!! It was amazing :) The day ran smoothly and Gail is utterly fantastic. Regarding food, comments from our guests included:- "the best food we've eaten", "I've been to a lot of weddings and this is the best food ever", "I like nice food and this is simply the best!" etc etc. We couldn't have been happier. We also had fire pits for roasting marshmallows outside. Honestly, NOTHING was too much trouble and whatever we requested for our special day, Gail and her team made sure we got!! My favourite day ever! My favourite day ever!
With both myself and my groom having a more personal connection (he's a chef here and I'm a waitress) getting married here made it even more special! It's such a beautiful location and even though we married in winter the sun shone! Gail and the other wedding coordinators are second to none and money can't buy them! The food was amazing (yes I'm biased but it's true!). I highly recommend The Larmer Tree! In summer you can get married in the beautiful gardens and entertain your guests with garden games! In winter you can cosy around fire pits! Either way you won't be disappointed!
