- KKaren Hunter11/12/2018A day to remember A day to rememberStayed the night before with the whole family which did turn into a massive drinking sesh and yes i did see the groom the night before of the wedding and technically the morning of the wedding as we didnt get to sleep until 3am. It was a simple day nothing over the top as it was about us. We had all our close friends and families. All the men in matching kilts. The day flew in, which we were warned would happen. Married in the castle then party in the marquee at night. Stayed that night too which i had asked the groom to get a pen as i wanted to open the cards as we wete going to rome the following morning and because he was absolutely blootered he invited most of the wedding guests back to which my surprise when i answered the door as i had took my dress off and all i had on was my knickers. So scampered back into the room dressing gown on sincr it turned into an after party in the room. Fiona was amazing at keeping us calm and reassuring us throughout all the planning and on the big day until John took over! John was amazing too and kept the whole day running smoothly. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. From the moment myself and my bridesmaids checked in the day before the wedding the staff could not do enough for us, everyone was very happy to help with any request we had. Our suite was beautiful and had lots of space for everyone getting ready. On the wedding day we had use of The ballroom, viscount room and the marquee, which was great as they are all lovely rooms. The food was lovely, and there are so many wonderful spots for photos. Our wedding day at Melville Castle was amazing, and we would definitely reccommed it as a wedding location! We loved everything about it from the long drive way to the use of all the different rooms in the castle and marque. The food is amazing and staff are very friendly and helpful. Lots of fantastic spots for photographs! We had the best day and couldn’t imagine a better venue to celebrate our special day. This venue is absolutely stunning. From the minute we started to plan our day everyone has been so helpful. Our wedding day went extremely smoothly with not one hiccup! Our guests commented on how efficient every step of the day was and how great all the staff were - not to mention the absolutely beautiful venue! We would love to do our day all over again at Melville Castle it was just amazing! We honestly can’t thank Fiona and the team at Melville Castle enough, our day was beyond perfect! We had several international guests so we’re looking forward somewhere to have the wedding but also where they could stay. We were able to even pick the rooms where they stayed, ensuring those who knew each other were near each other. As for the wedding, our planner Fiona has everything organised and it’s easy to see what’s required. We got some great ideas as well as our decorations business at their wedding fair. The grounds are fantastic and the castle is stunning. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the marquee was and how amazing the food is. We had particular things we wanted, from the music that was played, the centre pieces, the favours, entertainment etc and the castle were very easy going and allowed us to do exactly what we wanted to. 5 stars, easily.Can’t recommend Melville Castle enough! From the moment we booked Fiona (wedding and events manager) has been fantastic, I could contact her anytime about anything and she was always happy to help, she was also great with given me ideas for the day. We had our wedding at Melville Castle in April 2018. Fiona was our wedding planner. She is a pleasure to deal with. She was helpful, patient, organised and she made sure that everything was perfect. We had the best weekend that we could have wished for. The Castle is gorgeous, the team is lovely and helpful, the food was excellent and the whole experience was just perfect. An absolutely perfect day!My husband and I got married at Melville Castle this summer, and people have not stopped raving about the wedding, even now months later. Fiona and the staff at Melville Castle helped us plan the most memorable day for us and our guests (about 110 people in total). They helped accommodate the fact that we had a lot of people coming from the US by doing a block booking for all of the rooms in the castle for both Friday and Saturday nights. I, as well as a lot of our family, cannot eat gluten. Normally this means that we’re stuck eating terribly prepared gluten-free food. The head chef and cooks instead prepared almost everything gluten-free and still maintained the absolutely amazing standard of food that they normally produce. Fiona and her team helped make sure even the tiniest details were how I pictured and made sure my husband and I didn’t have to worry about anything other than getting married on the day of our wedding. We had everything from lawn games to a piper, a rehearsal dinner to an open bar, a ceilidh band and really everything in between. We loved every moment. It’s a beautiful venue and we could not recommend Melville Castle more!! Don't stress everything will come get done. Organise one part of the wedding at a time and you will soon find that you have everything done and do not leave all the little things to last week, the time will whizz past that week try to do a little bit for month up to the wedding
