The Guardian of Whitsand Bay since 1867, Polhawn Fort is a unique, exclusive use wedding venue on the Cornish coast. The experienced team of wedding professionals at Polhawn Fort are dedicated to helping you create the wedding you have always dreamed about. Your guests will enjoy the stunning, secluded location complete with private access beach. Offering extended stays and luxurious accommodation you have the choice to do as much or as little as you choose. Actually, choice is what we do best. With a handpicked list of trusted suppliers, curated with quality and service in mind, you will be able to bring your ideas to life! Flexible spaces mean you can plan your wedding to be as relaxed and simple or as formal as you can imagine. The Grand Hall is perfect for everything from a sublime indoor ceremony to a riotous, lively party! The summerhouse overlooking the Bay stands ready for enchanted outside ceremonies but can also be transformed into a beach hut bar or chill-out zone! Not to mention the beach for cricket, bonfires and water sports. New for 2018 is the use of the Mediterranean inspired Roof Garden Terrace. Situated on the top of the Fort your guests can enjoy Al Fresco dining with sweeping views of the Bay from the end of the Terrace. You are free to choose how to use the space which lends itself to a casual barbecue or chilled out drinks reception. Combine a fire pit and festoon lighting to encourage your guests to appreciate the sunsets from the roof or your very own fireworks display from the neighbouring field. To add to the enjoyment of the extensive grounds, Polhawn provide a range of garden games. A bit of healthy competition will develop between your family and friends as they challenge each other to Croquet, Giant Jenga and our favourite traditional Cornish game – Smite! Spectators can enjoy the sport from our new folding lawn chairs and side tables. Polhawn Fort has viewing days every Monday and Friday afternoon, including Bank Holidays.

EXCLUSIVE USE OF POLHAWN FORT The surrounding gardens, summerhouse, all weather tennis court, private access beach, car park for approximately 35 cars for the duration of your stay (our driveway is about half a mile long & can also be lined with cars if needed for the day of your reception). ACCOMMODATION FOR 24 PEOPLE All rooms have sea views, top of the range Vi-Spring beds that are ready made up with luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, and plenty of soft white fluffy towels, Cots and extra mattresses for children and young adults are also supplied and room layouts are pretty flexible too! BANQUETING EQUIPMENT TO CATER FOR UP TO 120 PEOPLE Including a full range of crockery, cutlery, glassware, banqueting chairs and a choice of circular &/or rectangular tables. Crisp white table linen and napkins are also included. USE OF OUR FULLY EQUIPPED COMMERCIAL KITCHEN You can hire one of our trusted caterers, choose your own, or arrange all the food yourself – it’s up to you! NO CORKAGE CHARGES! You can supply your own choice of top quality wines/drinks for you and your guests with no extra charges! A pay bar option is also available if you’d prefer. Polhawn Fort is perched on the edge of the long gorgeous beach where I grew up as a child. When Simon and I got engaged I knew exactly where I wanted to get married! I wanted a wedding which was a bit different, I wanted to include treasure hunts, a visit from santa for the kids, fun canapés (Cornish crab ice cream cones for example!) and Polhawn Fort has let us do just that. You hire the fort for 4 days, and all your closest friends and family can stay in their gorgeously decorated rooms with fantastic sea views. Then you tailor the wedding yourself - we hired our own caterers (White Radish), made our own cake, supplied our own flowers and created our own perfect wedding - with a fun Christmas theme. Polhawn Fort enables you to do whatever you want and create your perfect weekend - or week - not just the wedding day! I would recommend it to anyone getting married who loves being by the ocean, whether it’s on a beautiful sunny day or a stormy one - the fort caterers for it all. We had log fires burning and fur shrugs, and a stand for S’mores with a sparkler send off! Perfect day...Perfect venue! We had an amazing weekend at Polhawn from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Unfortunately it rained for the first time in weeks on our actual day but that didn’t put a dampener on things. An outdoor or indoor ceremony is stunning at Polhawn. All our guests were blown away by the venue and how romantic it was, and everyone still made the most of it despite the rain. Having the fort for the whole weekend meant things were a lot more relaxed and it was like a mini holiday for us and the wedding party. Now that the wedding is over I’m saddened that we won’t get to go back to Polhawn soon! Thank you for everything!We had an amazing weekend at Polhawn from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Unfortunately it rained for the first time in weeks on our actual day but that didn’t put a dampener on things. An outdoor or indoor ceremony is stunning at Polhawn. Thank you Sarah for knowing it was the place for us and gently convincing us to go forward. Thank you Gemma for your patience with endless questions & room juggling. Thank you Jim for your calm voice on the day making everything happen like clockwork. The Fort is a special place and I'm so glad I found it. All our guests are still talking about it & it's wonders and so you should definitely have lots more interest from people as the good word is spread. I just have to mention that when we left on the Monday we stopped at the Cliff Top cafe to buy our girls ice creams and we saw a pod of dolphins in the bay. You couldn't have got anymore magic if you tried with 2 sunsets as well. Thank you, love, love and more. We got married in 06/2018 at Polhawn Fort. It was the most special day. The venue is simply stunning- you cannot beat it! Everyone who’s planned or currently planning a wedding will know that it can be at times very stressful, but the staff at Polhawn Fort took that stress away- You can not fault them! From the initial viewing to the booking process and then leading up to the day was brilliant. They couldn’t do enough to help and answered every email with a fast response and always on the end of the phone when needed. The day ran so smoothly and they made sure everything was taken care of so we could just simply enjoy our day. You can tell the staff love their job and take pride in what they do. When planning our wedding we couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect venue and we feel incredibly lucky we got married at Polhawn Fort. After visiting the fort for the first time in August 2016, revisiting in February 2018 to arriving for our wedding in August 2018 it had the same impact everytime! Just wow! We couldn't wait to have all our family and friends see it for the first time and finally understand why we travelled all the way from Leeds to marry in Cornwall. Which they did! Just perfect!
