My husband (!) and I got married at this beautiful venue on Saturday. From the moment we walked into the Bell in January, we knew we wanted to get married there. We both wanted a relaxed day, full of fun and a brilliant party and the Bell certainly delivered. The venue is wonderfully quirky with the most amazing little details such as beautiful birch trees inside, trumpets in the men's toilet (my husband's favourite) and AMAZING lodges for your guests to stay outside.
On the day we had use of 3.rooms- The Stable, which has a huge long table running down the centre of the room and the words 'I will always love you my friend' lit on the wall.. A personal highlight for me was being introduced as husband and wife and walking the length of the table to Ring the Bell at the end! The Ceremony Room- where we actually tied the knot and then partied later in the evening. The room is a beautiful space with very cool red and gold wallpaper, beautiful candeliers and wooden floors. Finally, The Snug' which is a cosy little room with a roaring log fire and beautiful leather sofas.
From the moment we booked the Bell all of the staff- but specifically Tessa, Hannah and Pip- were absolutely wonderful. I honestly couldn't ask for more. They answered all of my queries promptly, were incredibly organised and patient throughout and always made me feel reassured!
On the day- the girls were truly amazing. From the moment I arrived, Pip was waiting outside with an umbrella (yes, it was raining- but apparently that's lucky!). The venue looked breathtaking and just as I had imagined and the food was first class. We had slow roasted leg of Kentish lamb which just melted in your mouth. We served our own cake for pudding, but the chefs at the Bell served it beautifully with fresh raspberries, white chocolate and cream. The canapés were also gorgeous little treats! Throughout the day, my guests frequently congratulated me on finding such a beautiful venue and on the quality of the food.
I also had a special surprise planned for my Husband- a Balkan Brass Band- which was a little nod to his Serbian heritage! When I told Tessa about this, she could not have been more accommodating. She helped with the organisation leading up to the wedding and kept the band hidden in the Snug until their grand entrance! The surprise went like clock work.and was my favourite part of the whole wedding. Not only were the Bell happy to accommodate a Brass band- they seemed to genuinely enjoy them too, which was really nice.
The night was finished with s'mores and red wine around the fire pit- which had been lit for us sometime before. A perfect end to a perfect day.
The staff at the Bell had everything in hand from start to finish and I did not have to worry about a thing (which is unusual for me). I cannot recommend the Bell highly enough. It is a wonderful, beautiful, fun venue with staff that will make your day absolutely unforgettable. We will never forget what the Bell and all the staff did for us on our special day and The Bell will always have a special place in our hearts! My husband (!) and I got married at this beautiful venue on Saturday.
