Set in the heart of Newcastle’s cultural quarter, The Biscuit Factory offers couples a truly unique backdrop to their special day unlike anything else you’ll find in the city. Located in the Ouseburn Valley, The Biscuit Factory is an art, craft and design gallery housed within a former Victorian warehouse that dates back to the 1860s.
Inside, you’ll find a stunning collection of contemporary work, encompassing everything from original paintings and prints to glass, ceramics and even jewellery. Exposed brickwork and original ceiling beams all add to the character of this beautiful space and it’s easy to see why the venue was shortlisted for Best City Venue in the 2016 UK Wedding Awards. Adjoining the main gallery is the venue’s purpose-built function suite, The Biscuit Room, one of the largest venues in Newcastle. Best described as a blank canvas – this room can be re-imagined into the wedding of your dreams.

Especially Faye and Michael ! Faye knew exactly what sort of look we were aiming for and how we wanted our day/ night to go, she was amazing. Nothing was too much to ask Michael through out the day, equally he knows his job inside and out. We had such a lovely day and night and would recommend the stunning venue and second to none service to anyone. The ceremony space looked beautiful and went without a hitch, we couldn’t have asked for it to go better. The surrounding area and gallery were perfect for the photos, Paula has sent a few preview shots and they look incredible. So many people have told us that it was the best wedding food they have ever had and we both agreed, your kitchen team should be very proud of that. Everything was perfect with the day and we want to thank you so much again, everyone had an amazing time. We have had so many people say how much they liked the venue and enjoyed the wedding. The ceremony space looked beautiful and went without a hitch, we couldn’t have asked for it to go better. Katie was our events coordinator and was outstanding - she was always quick to respond to any queries leading up to the event and was proactive in suggesting arrangements. She was genuinely enthusiastic and made a real effort to get to know us in order to tailor the event to be exactly as we envisaged it. The room itself was great - we were given flexible access in advance to decorate as we wished and it looked amazing. On the night, the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. We lost count of how many people told us it was the best buffet food they had ever had! There was a great range of cocktails available and the changing lights behind the bar are another great feature. As people who weren't even sure whether to have a party at all, our party here was everything we could have wanted. Thank you Katie and the team at the Biscuit Factory! First of all (and most importantly!) the food was the best that we've ever had at a wedding, bar none, and our guests said the same. Our only regret is that we were too full from the main meal to try everything later in the evening! The service was exceptional throughout the day, the staff were great and couldn't have been more accommodating. Our wedding planner Katie was fantastic right from our first meeting, she was always quick to respond to our questions and we couldn't have organised it without her. All in all it was a perfect day and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. We had our ceremony in the gallery - a must if you choose to get married here. We adored the industrial setting surrounded by contemporary art work. Afterwards, the Biscuit Room was a great location for the reception - the minimalist style allowed us to really put our own stamp on the design of the room. The Biscuit Factory team were incredible and the events co-ordinator Katie made the journey from the beginning of planning to the execution of the day extremely calming and easy. Furthermore, the food at the reception was outstanding and the flexibility given for choosing the menu was highly appreciated. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We always encourage our couples to have add personal touches to their wedding day to reflect them as a couple and to get friends and family involved wherever they can. A couple of recent favourites have been; freshly picked flowers from a friends allotment for favours, a traditional Danish cake to represent a Bride's Danish roots.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
We have so many great photo spots in and around our venue. Our main Gallery is the perfect backdrop with lots of natural light, bare brick and of course fabulous art work!

Keeping it local.. North Shields Crab Mayonnaise, Sourdough
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
BBQ style slider burgers and pizza are always a crowd-pleaser when the carb cravings kick in after one too many glasses of fizz.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our main Gallery speaks for itself, whether you choose to hold your ceremony with us surrounded by artwork or to hold your drinks reception in the Gallery before partying the night away in The Biscuit Room or Artisan it's certainly a memorable setting for your guests.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Each element of our business from the art gallery to our events team contributes to our extremely successful Wedding side of the business, we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and we are very proud of our events team right from the sales stage to the execution of our couples special day.
