From the moment you enter our grand hall, you'll feel the sense of romanticism that lingers throughout this historic hotel. The Castle is an elegant and unique town centre venue offering 4 beautiful ceremony rooms as well as 44 comfortable bedrooms.
And we love food. The Castle has an enviable reputation for culinary excellence. Our kitchen team source and use only the finest local ingredients. So you can rest assured that your wedding breakfast or dinner will be prepared to the highest standard.

- AA & S23/01/2018Stunning Wedding!Stunning Wedding!The events team at the Castle are fantastic. Louise looked after us for our Wedding in between Christmas and New Year 2017. The venue is spectacular, the events team are there to answer any queries and their enthusiasm is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. The preparations were made hassle free and on the day, we could not have wished for more! We chose one of the packages which are fantastic value and got ,arrived in the stunning Wisteria room. Afterwards we headed into the lobby for bubbles and nibbles which allowed our gusts to mingle and take photographs. We had our wedding breakfast in the Garden Room. The food was top notch, the service was nothing short of fantastic and we had the most fantastic day. We would not have changed a thing!! I cannot rate the team at the Castle highly enough! How can I choose just one! There are so many wonderful weddings that we host at The Castle, everyone is so different but the end goal is the same. Marrying the love of your life.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Sit down and be honest with each other about what you want from your day. My biggest tip is to list your priorities against a budget. You'll be surprised to find what is most important to your partner, and you need to agree how to best spend your budget.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
The Groom etched the date and their names on hand-carved wooden hearts which were part of the table decorations.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our biggest secret here at The Castle is our wonderful Norman Rose Garden, the BEST place for pictures, especially when everything is in bloom.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Well, that would be telling!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Goats Cheese with Pine Nut and Beetroot - perfect on a warm summers day.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Many couples choose Bacon Rolls. Personally, mine would be Champagne!

The Wisteria facade, it's more than 150 years old!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our Restaurants are award winning but i'm immensely proud of our friendly team, and our attention to detail.
