Lauren Thank you for organising our wedding yesterday, we had an absolutely amazing day. I wanted to pass on that James was absolutely fantastic and I think every venue needs a James! Everything ran perfectly and the whole team of staff were faultless. It was great. Lots of people commented on how good the food was too! The most wonderful and magical weddingThe most wonderful and magical wedding
Jamie and I would just like to say a massive thank you to Gracie and all the staff at the hotel who helped us to enjoy such a wonderful day. Both us and our guests were treated so well and I felt like royalty. During the evening reception the staff couldn't have done anymore to ensure that everyone was happy. One member of staff even offered to push George up and down the hall to get him to sleep. The food was absolutely beautiful and everyone commented on how nice it was. I could have eaten double portions it was so nice. We had the most wonderful and magical wedding and it will be a day we will never forget. Dear Catherine, I just wanted to thank you personally for the efforts of ALL your staff to make Amy and Andy,s wedding day so special. Everything came together very well. The meal was excellent. Compliments to the kitchen staff for that. The waiters and bar staff were ever attentive. Concierge were helpful. The cleaners, bless them, had our confetti to clean up. Everyone did this with a smile and a hello. Particular thanks to yourself and Laura?, And the young man , for the help in the wedding function room. And from me a special thanks to the two doormen, Wayne and his colleague were excellent, and attentive. I would recommend your hotel without any doubts to any potential future wedding party. Dear Catherine The celebrations of Mark & Ritch's wedding have finally calmed down. That gives Helen and I a chance to say an enormous thank you from the both of us and also on behalf of everybody at the wedding who had a fabulous time. Your professionalism, attention to detail and the confidence that you showed helped us all to relax knowing it was all in hand & those little details & touches, which are often important, were all catered for. Could you please pass on our thanks to all the catering and service staff who were excellent and worked tirelessly through a long day. We would like you to also pass on our gratitude to Ivan at reception. He checked in nearly all our guests and ensured we had a solution for two of our guests arriving just before the wedding. He made their day. As always the concierge team were great and we got to know them well over the weekend. Please pass on our thanks. They made the logistics of getting everything in & out a dream. The amount of comments we received about this being the nicest well organised wedding was a credit to you. Our guests were lovely people, but by they have high expectations and appreciate good things - and they gave it a massive thumbs up. We have one more, our daughter Lucy, to get married. We were both very satisfied with The Grand's service and we had a fantastic wedding day. Julia and all the team, helped us to organize everything well, and we are very impressed by their professional skills that made our wedding exactly as we expected. Unfortunately, we had to make some changes to our original plan, but all the team managed to handle these issues very well. Finally, thank you and the Grand again for bringing us an unforgettable day! It was magical!It was magical!
We got married yesterday and had our reception at The Grand, it was magical. We were only a small party and didn't have a huge do but the staff at The Grand treated us like we were the most important people staying, despite it being a busy night with two other weddings and York races on. Every member of staff for the entire stay were helpful and friendly and genuinely caring, I cannot fault a single thing and every person we spoke to helped make it the most wonderful day and even better than we could have hoped for. Thank you to every member of staff, will never forget our day thanks to you all. We got married yesterday and had our reception at The Grand, it was magical. We would like to thank you and all of the staff at the Grand for making our Wedding so wonderful. Everything was absolutely perfect and we just can't get over how our special day ran without a hitch. The day would have been nice but the main reason it was exceptional was the fantastic staff in a fantastic venue. Everyone was so efficient and professional however their warmth and friendliness shone through, just a winning combination. We had our wedding reception here. Best hotel by far. Amazing hotel, amazing staff! Hotel is so warm and welcoming, rooms are amazing... What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

I love seeing personal stories, one of my favourites was created on a wooden ladder with the first date on the bottom step up to the day of wedding on the top.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

This has to be our period Staircase that greets you on arrival. The Edwardian architecture is signified by the impeccable design which creates the perfect backdrop for your Wedding photos.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

That would be telling! We have had a range of celebrity guests stay with us but unfortunately I am still waiting for Robbie Williams to grace our Hotel entrance!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Mini Cottage Pie! Maybe that is the Yorkshire in me but I think it is great!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

I don't believe treats are only for midnight! I therefore like to indulge all day but if I had to choose on it would have to be left over buffet food!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

As the original Railway Offices, our Grand Boardroom features a traditional Blackboard which can be personalised for your Special Day!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

All of it! From the welcome on arrival by our Concierge team, to the service on the day. Our staff make the venue the best I know!
