Our historic building and grounds are exclusively yours for your special day. From the front gate to the bottom of the gardens and everything in between – just you, your guests and our friendly staff. We want you to treat The Old Deanery as your home so leave the paint on the walls and we don’t mind what you do! Bring The Old Deanery to life and inject your own personality into it. Whether it be hanging pictures, lighting up the gardens or dressing the staircase – it’s your day, do what you wish. Open up the doors of the Cathedral Dining Room and Dean’s Dining Room to create an elegant space seating up to 80 guests, or for smaller weddings enjoy the Garden Room for up to 20 guests. All of which are licensed to hold ceremonies, along with our lounge and airy Sanctuary room. Just minutes from our doors are also many places of worship, including the magnificent Ripon Cathedral, allowing for a short walk or a drive around the ancient market square from your ceremony, to your celebration here at The Old Deanery. Couples who choose to celebrate with us will find their very own wedding coordinator, Keri Graham, on hand from day one. Her calming personality and passion for weddings will ensure the planning process is as stress-free as possible, allowing you to enjoy the experience and relax on the run up to the big day! Our wedding packages are bespoke to you – your wedding day is unique so why be restricted by your venue? Thank you so much for everything you did to make our day so special. I really did feel that I didn't have to worry about a single thing, from the minute we booked, through all the planning conversations, emails and meetings right up to seeing you welcome us back from the ceremony to have dinner. The food was as good as we knew it would be, and I still can't put into words how beautiful the dining room looked. I was completely blown away by how well you had understood us and how much the room felt exactly like we wanted it to. Thank you so so much - if we could do it all again we would!Thank you so much for everything you did to make our day so special. From our first visit we knew we had found a special venue, and as our planning progressed we realised we were blessed with a fantastic wedding coordinator. Keri is an absolute professional, who kept us at ease throughout and placated our many many requests effortlessly. On top of this, she was able to advise us on specifics and was brilliant on the day. From our arrival, to the removal of our circus of a wedding four days later, he could not do enough to help. This was again echoed through the other members of the team, who were a credit to the Old Deanery. I could not write this without making a special mention to the chef Lee, who created a fantastic bespoke wedding menu which met our needs perfectly. He was imaginative and open to suggestions, which led to a sharing style meal which we have received endless positive feedback about. Our Perfect Day! Our Perfect Day!
Date of Wedding - 26 May 2018 The Old Deanery delivered outstanding customer service, from the moment we first met with them to discuss the space as a potential venue. Our experience with all members of staff was utterly faultless, in both the lead up to our wedding, the day itself and throughout the rest of the time we and our guests stayed at The Old Deanery. No ask was too much effort for the staff at The Old Deanery; the Chef worked with us to fine tune our menu so it was exactly as we wanted it. Keri, our wedding planner, was so incredibly thoughtful and went over and above to ensure the whole day ran smoothly. We were so touched at all the additional effort the staff at The Old Deanery went to - from setting up and decorating the venue, to ensuring we had a chance to try the canapés on the day when we were busily chatting with our guests! At the end of the night we were even delivered with ice cold bottles of water to enjoy with the bacon sandwiches they’d held back for us. Every member of staff at The Old Deanery was polite, generous and thoughtful and so many of our guests commented on how the staff at The Old Deanery were the best staff they’d ever met at a wedding! Our wedding was perfect, all because of the magnificent staff at The Old Deanery, I couldn’t praise them any higher for their customer service.? My husband and I had our wedding reception on the 8th of December 2017. I couldn't recommend The Old Deanery enough. From start to finish Keri and the events team were extremely professional, organised and very supportive in our wedding. The building is beautiful and so intimate. The food was incredible and many of our guests said it was some of the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The rooms were modern yet very cosy. We will certainly be going back there to stay and hold future celebrations there. I'm so pleased we choose this as our venue. You were an absolute star. From first meeting you at the beginning of the year right up until the Sunday morning after the wedding. You listened to everything we asked for and you made sure everything was just right. I was over the moon with how the room looked for the meal, it was just how I wanted it. We heard so many positive comments about the staff on the day and the day after. We didn’t want the day to end, we had such an amazing time and made really special memories to treasure forever. Perfect Wedding Venue! Perfect Wedding Venue!
We got married at the Old Deanery in September 2017 and can’t recommend them highly enough. We had exclusive use of the venue which was lovely and helped creat a relaxed friendly atmosphere on our wedding day. The food was excellent. We loved our tasting meal and on the day everything was delicious and high quality. Everyone at the Old Deanery was friendly, brilliant and worked hard to make our day special, especially Keri, our wedding coordinator. At every stage she was lovely, highly organised, always quick to get back to our emails and massively competent. She ensured everything ran smoothly on the day and we didn’t have to worry about anything. The Old Deanery itself is a beautiful building and the rooms worked perfectly for our wedding of 60 day and 100 evening guests. The gardens are great and looked beautiful on our photos. They are also enclosed so safe for children to play. We liked that the Old Deanery were happy for us to make the venue our own- we replaced the pictures with our pre wedding photos, decorated the tables and rooms etc. We also thought the Old Deanery was very reasonable in price. Both for the overall cost of our package and for drinks and rooms for our guests- both were vastly less expensive than other wedding venues and everyone loved their rooms and breakfast.
