Small but perfectly formed, the newly refurbished Orchid Hotel is an enchanting venue for a wedding that’s as unique as you are. With a civil ceremony license and a choice of settings for your celebrations – from our idyllic courtyard to two completely redesigned function rooms – the Orchid offers an intimately glamorous backdrop for a truly unforgettable day. Just as important, every aspect of your special day is tailor-made – from the menu and the styling through to the tiniest of details. Our hugely experienced team are on hand to make your dream wedding a reality – with countless magical little extras to inspire and excite in equal measure.
With 31 bedrooms you may also wish to have the venue completely for yourselves on an exclusive use basis from 11 am on the day of your wedding to 11 am the following day. This includes a late licence for the music until 1 am, a late breakfast until 11 am and a late checkout until midday.

- RRachel Patmore27/11/2018Amazing Wedding DayAmazing Wedding DayI had the pleasure of having my wedding and reception at The Orchid Hotel, I have to say everything was perfect! Helen, George and all of the other staff did a great job in ensuring the day went smoothly from start to finish. Everything from the presentation of the lovely Paloma Suite and Aurelia Suite to the food served during the wedding breakfast was brilliant. Attention to detail was on point and everything went seamlessly thanks to everyone working on that day. The wedding breakfast, canapes and evening buffet were all lovely. We had a fantastic day and the staff were great. All of the rooms we reserved for wedding guests were very well presented and clean. The Master Room was lovely and very comfortable. The feedback from our family was stunning and we all loved this venue. This hotel is a perfect place to host a wedding celebration. We have made some wonderful memories from the day and we certainly could not be happier. We would happily relive the day over and over again. We look forward to returning to the hotel and restaurant, we would definitely recommend. We naturally made changes along the way and it was with ease that these were implemented. A lovely boutique hotel and wonderful ambience. Friendly and professional staff and Helen was always calm and reassuring. The food, wine and service was exceptional and a choice of rooms to suit your specific needs. We were also fortunate to be able to enjoy the outside patio area through to the evening. The Orchid Hotel was recommended to us and we recommend it to you.Thank you to Helen and team for our perfect wedding day. All our requests were listened to and executed with professionalism. And im really glad I did, as the Orchid was AMAZING! Helen and all the staff did everything they could to help us feel at ease from the off. All the planning was made simple for us, and some of our special requirements were met with minimal fuss or hassle. Our families and guests all loved the decor and even though the weather was terrible (we mean really, really bad) all day it was still the perfect venue as everyone mingled indoors. We cant thank everyone there enough and have got lots of happy memories of our special day :-) As with all sensible grooms, I let the bride have maximal control and governance over the choice of venue. A wedding can be stressful but the entire staff made us feel like we were the most important. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
As an animal lover I was delighted when I had a bride who hired in a baby alpaca and it's mum to the drinks reception. They were adorable and very well behaved!

Marinated salmon, curry guacamole on a cheddar biscuit - delicious! However as our Hotel Restaurant, No 34 has an AA Rosette it is not surprising!

Has to be chocolate

The staff - a cut above the rest - friendly, smiley, professional, helpful and are there to make you have the best day ever!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Hard to say as the hotel looks amazing with it's new refurbishment but the staff are also something to be proud of. Oh and then there is the food........
