Tunnels Beaches is a uniquely designed coastal wedding venue – accessed via a hand carved tunnel through the cliff and with its own PRIVATE BEACH! Fully licensed for wedding ceremonies within a thatched gazebo overlooking the sea, or inside our contemporary and stylish bespoke venue building – ensuring there are no concerns about the UK weather! Invite up to 120 day guests and up to 160 evening guests... Late license - party until 2am! This unique and stunning location is an ideal venue for your special day – beautiful scenery, private secluded beaches with spectacular sunsets and offering a relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere. Our rugged coastline make for a dramatic backdrop and awesome photos! Easy access for all your guests via the paved & very gently sloping tunnels. Summer ElopementSummer Elopement
"Where do we start…What an incredible wedding we had and we just didn’t want it to end. Everything about the venue, the staff, food, drink & organisation was out of this world. We stayed with most of our wedding guests at "The woodlands" accommodation the night before and the night of the wedding. We would recommend this to anyone as it was really special to be able to spend more time celebrating with all our guests. The house was amazing and so convenient for everyone to get to the venue without having to travel, we simply walked through the amazing tunnel and we were there. The wedding day itself just felt like a dream and we struck gold with the weather. We always dreamed of an intimate abroad wedding but due to family not being able to travel far we decided to still go with a costal wedding at "Tunnels Beaches". Well, we wouldn’t of know the difference. Everyone felt like they where abroad, the sun was shining, the sound of the waves and refreshing Aperol Spritz…what more could you ask for. "Tunnels Beaches" really do have a dream team and honestly our day wouldn’t of been the same without them. Simon especially who was in charge of how the day was run, his calm yet efficient approach to things was perfect. Simon was also very thoughtful when it came to making sure our two children where kept happy at the wedding and went out of his way to make it his job that they enjoyed themselves so that we could have a stress free day. The list of positive’s is endless and we could just carry on singing their praises. We will be sure to revisit for future anniversaries and family holidays as it will always be a place that’s very special in our hearts." We want to say a huge thank you to Tunnels Beaches for making our wedding day more amazing than we could ever have hoped for. All of the staff were incredible with a special shout out to Naomi who took all of the stress away and helped make sure every last detail was perfect. We brought our friends and family down to ilfracombe from all over the country (and abroad!) and they were all thrilled that we did. We hired the amazing Courtyard and Bath House properties, which gave us the ideal base to build up to the big day and then prolong the celebrations with a BBQ on Sunday. But as great as the whole weekend was, the wedding itself was the absolute highlight. Our guests were glowing about what an incredible venue we’d chosen, the food was amazing - from the canapés and ice cream to the Gourmet BBQ and evening Tapas - and we both had the most special and happiest day of our lives! From the moment we stepped through the door on our very first viewing, to visiting the venue two days after our wedding, the staff at the Tunnels were incredible. Organising a wedding from Australia was a daunting task, but Jamie and the team made it a relaxing experience. Our day went better than we could have ever wished for and it truly was the best day of our lives, the venue is an absolute dream. The food was exceptional, the add on's made planning a breeze and the recommended vendors worked out so well. We were lucky enough to get 4 days of sunshine, so our wedding lasted the full 4 days, with evening meals in The Courtyard, a lazy beach day and a seal bobbing it's head up in the lagoon to say hello. Just Wow!Just Wow!
Just wow!! I don’t think we will ever get over this day. There's just something about Tunnels that made our day so magical. Being in such a beautiful location with all of our friends and family was a dream come true. After visiting the Tunnels as a little girl, peering at a wedding through the then bamboo fence, I knew it was the place I wanted to get married. As soon as we were engaged, I remembered my visit to Tunnels from all those years ago. I remember one of the first conversations we had after the engagement was me saying ‘I know exactly where we are getting married’. My now husband was slightly on the fence because all he had seen is photos (as if that wasn’t enough) but once we had come to Tunnels and met with Jamie he was just as in love with the venue as I was. I can't describe the feeling I had when walking down the tunnels in my wedding dress with my mum and bridesmaids behind me, it was something I will never ever forget. The team at Tunnels, the food and of course the venue itself were absolutely incredible. We owe so much to the Tunnels team for allowing our special day to run so smoothly. We are so grateful for everything they did for us, they were brilliant from start to finish. Just wow!! I don’t think we will ever get over this day. Summer Elopement on a private beachSummer Elopement on a private beach
We had a Summer Elopement at Tunnel Beaches in July 2022. It was the most perfect day. The weather was beautiful, the venue was so picturesque and the staff were so accommodating. Even though we had a small wedding, we still felt very special and all of our guests commented on how lovely your staff members were. Especially Simon who was so reassuring and pleasant throughout our day. The private beach is perfect for pictures, even a little dip in the summer heat which was one of the highlights for us as all the men ran into the ocean for fun! We would highly recommend Tunnel Beaches for your magical day and we will be returning on our anniversary for years to come...We had a Summer Elopement at Tunnel Beaches in July 2022. It was the most perfect day. The weather was beautiful, the venue was so picturesque and the staff were so accommodating. Everything was perfect.Everything was perfect.
After thinking we wanted to get married abroad but deciding we wanted all our loved ones to be able to make it, Tunnels Beaches was the answer... Amazing views, amazing venue, amazing accommodation and the opportunity to make it a weekend celebration, amazing food (people are still talking to us about the food weeks later. It was SO good!) The staff were all amazing and helped the day go to plan so well. We had a bit of rain but still managed to have our ceremony outside and it was just beautiful. After a Covid postponement and a new baby thrown in to the mix, wedding planning took a bit of a twisted turn for us, but we had the magical day and weekend we dreamed of when we first viewed Tunnels, with all our loved ones around us.
