Across the venue you’ll find traditional flint long barns, a cosy Moroccan snug and the charming, typically English styled Jasmine Cottage – where you’ll begin your big day.
Jasmine Cottage is yours for the duration of your wedding. You can get ready here in the morning and use it as your own personal space at any point during the day. Styled with shabby chic décor and furnished with antique furniture and a freestanding roll top bath, it’s the perfect place to relax in at the beginning and at the end of your special day. French windows also open up to a Juliet balcony overlooking the courtyard. So you can experience the excitement as your guests arrive, and enjoy the setting’s tranquillity together at the end of the night.
Your civil ceremony will take place in the lovingly restored East Barn. Up to 160 guests will be able to join you here. With its floor to ceiling windows and breath-taking views of rolling countryside, the setting really is quite hard to beat.
The Courtyard is in the heart of the barns and is a great space to enjoy drinks and canapés. With outdoor seating, parasols, topiary and colourful pots, it’s a lovely spot for your guests to catch up and celebrate your day. You’ll also find a secluded Moroccan Snug within the courtyard. Its cushions and throws in a rainbow of colours and chunky wooden furniture make it a unique and cosy chill out area for all guests to enjoy.
Your celebrations will continue in the rustic, warm South Barn, where you’ll enjoy a delicious wedding breakfast and an evening reception. Tea lights will twinkle from recesses in the decorative brickwork and white fairy lights will adorn the authentic wooden beams, adding a touch of magic to the final hours of your day.

The barns have plenty of space for everyone to enjoy their day, the courtyard is lovely to have drinks outside and games or entertainment. The Moroccan snug is lovely for people to go somewhere quieter to talk and relax, perfect on a cold evening as it has heaters. The cottage is the perfect bridal suite, beautifully decorated and plenty of space to get ready in. A truly beautiful venue only surpassed by the amazing team that work behind the scenes, everything and everyone works so well together, and it honestly feels more like a family than a business. All our guests have said how perfect the day was, how amazing the food was and how polite, friendly and efficient the staff were. I married my husband here on 23rd March 2018. It was the most amazing day - wish we could do it all again! The barns are just beautiful and the service we received beforehand from the whole team, in particular our wedding coordinator Kate, and on the day, was fantastic. There was nothing they hadn't thought of and they reassured us throughout the whole process, reminding us of the things we needed to think about and the info we needed to give and when. It really was the best day ever and our guests all had the amazing feedback on the venue. The pride Nicola and Tim and their team have for the venue is clear throughout the beautiful barns and gardens, every detail is perfect. Thank you for a day we will cherish forever. All of our guests couldn't stop commenting on how beautiful the rural setting was, how fresh and lovely the garden was and how convenient it was to be in one place all day (both ceremony and reception). The staff at Upwaltham is second to none. They did so much to ensure everyone was happy, our events stayed on schedule and my husband and I were happy. I highly recommend this place to any and all engaged couples! It's worth the wait to have your wedding at this fairytale venue.Upwaltham is the most beautiful, incredible venue out there.
