Worton Hall is situated in the small hamlet of Worton, a farm estate just 10 minutes from the centre of Oxford and is perched right on the edge of the Cotswolds. The venue was sympathetically rebuilt in 2014 to create an elegant and state of the art venue. Consisting of three open-plan function rooms, the exclusive use wedding venue hosts seated wedding breakfasts for 60 to 250 guests, and is licensed for both indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies. The surroundings of Worton Park complete the package with idyllic Cotswold stone cottages for convenient on-site accommodation. Enjoy country walks and access to our seasonal heated pool, or simply snuggle up by the open fires and make a toast to the special occasion with family and friends! The Grade II listed Farmhouse property is packed with character and surrounded by beautiful landscape gardens; this cottage sleeps up to 22 people in a combination of single and double rooms. Stable Cottage annex is able to sleep 4 people, but this cosy cottage makes a perfect private honeymoon cottage. We pride ourselves on being a flexible wedding venue to allow you to create a day that is truly yours. Our recommended caterer provides you with peace of mind, but should you prefer an alternative, or a specialised cuisine is required, external caterers can be chosen. Corkage packages and a full dry hire option are also offered. We're big on being green at Worton Hall, after all our beautiful farm site is looking after us so we look after it in return. The two large turrets on the roof of Worton Hall may not be your usual wedding venue feature but they do a very important job - these turrets connect to two large wood burners which power the heating for not only the venue but our whole site. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Worton Hall in October 2015. Catherine, Hannah and the team were absolutely fantastic in helping us make a day to remember. All the ideas we had were welcomed and embraced! Hannah happily (and quietly!) converted the Gallery from a wedding ceremony to a silent disco area during our wedding breakfast, whilst Catherine took control of our multiple musical requests and ensured our evening lighting was suitable for a party (multi-coloured uplighting!) The venue itself was fantastic, as we’ve been to many weddings before where it’s felt like you’re constantly being shuffled into another room whilst the main room is being set up for the ceremony/wedding breakfast/disco. With Worton Hall being one large room, it meant that the whole congregation were together all night (instead of hiding in separate rooms/bars like at other venues) which made it feel intimate, yet it wasn’t crowded at all. The acoustics of the rooms were great too, as we still found that there were quieter areas, mainly around the bar, where people could have a chat and catch up whilst music was playing on the dance floor. The service, coupled with the beautiful hall and surroundings really made our day unforgettable. We’ve had so many guests says what an amazing venue Worton Hall was. We feel very lucky to have found a venue that was so beautiful (despite the rain outside – perfect for an autumn wedding!) with gorgeous cottages to stay onsite, meaning our wedding was a weekend event rather than just one day and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking to get married!We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Worton Hall in October 2015. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Choosing a "best" wedding is hard - they're all so unique to the couple. We really enjoyed the wedding of Sandra and Fred which was the coming together of both Nigerian and British culture. Worton Hall was decorated in the most beautiful tribe patterns and colours and many of the guests were in traditional Nigerian dress. The atmosphere was so different to any wedding we've ever hosted before - no care in the world for timings, full of laughter and tonnes of dancing!

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Remember the day should reflect you as a couple not what you think you should do or what's considered tradition! And you can never ask too many questions - no need to say "sorry" - here at Worton Hall we loved to hear your questions, it will ease your mind and is a great way of communicating your ideas.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

When a Bride put a small pendant of a loved who is no longer around on her bouquet, a lovely personal touch to symbolise someone always being around.
