Loughcrew is absolutely magical.Loughcrew is absolutely magical.
Loughcrew is absolutely magical. I honestly wish we could get married there again! We are an American couple, and my now husband has old family ties to Ireland. We always wanted to visit, and once we got engaged we thought it would be a special place to have our small wedding. After searching through social media and tiktok we came across Loughcrew, and immediately knew it was our place. From start to finish *and some 70 emails* Diana was our amazing point person. She answered every single one of our questions with great care and attention to detail. We felt held and heard in every step of our overseas planning process. Once we arrived at the estate, after a 15 hour journey and some 4,000 miles, Róisín greeted us with a welcome drink and the biggest, warmest hug. Although we had traveled to a new and mysterious land, we felt right at home. It's clear that the staff at Loughcrew want you to feel welcomed and loved. We rented the Main house and Guest house for our 23 guests; not only did everyone have ample space to be comfortable, the grounds offered endless potential for exploring and taking in the Irish countryside. Emily, the owner, was a consistent presence during our stay there, and helped familiarize us with all the different parts of the property as well as its rich history. We got married at the church ruins, one of the most intimate and vibrational spaces on the property. It was so special to have all our loved ones gathered inside such a historical space. We enjoyed our sunny cocktail hour at the coffee shop and then walked over to the Millhouse to enjoy a magical dinner put on by Loughcrew Chef. They were grilling our food right outside, which added to the palpable ambience! For our reception, Asgard Trio played traditional Irish jigs in the Millhouse for our guests to dance and stomp to. The afterparty led us back to the main courtyard where a bonfire had been prepared for us into the early hours of the morning. From start to finish our wedding was perfect, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! I can't recommend Loughcrew highly enough. My husband and I knew we always wanted to elope from the United States to the Irish countryside, but we didn’t know where. We wanted our wedding day to be equal parts romantic and intimate. We wanted Irish history, a green landscape, and a venue that would be the perfect size for only two people getting married. When we discovered Loughcrew Estate and Gardens in our searches, we knew we found the perfect place. The ruins of St. Oliver Plunkett’s chapel overlooking the expansive green pastures, along with the well-maintained gardens filled with stunning flowers, made our dream feel more like reality. Additionally, Loughcrew’s proximity to Dublin made it more accessible for us, as we were planning our wedding entirely sight unseen from the United States. Diana of Loughcrew Estate went above and beyond in so many ways to make our wedding day completely stress-free. She answered any questions we had and always helped us with a big smile. I’m sure there was a lot more that went on behind the scenes that I wasn’t aware of, but I am so grateful for all she did to make our day spectacular. Her joy and enthusiasm for our wedding day lifted our spirits. We didn’t feel like “just another couple getting married,” which is an invaluable quality any couple’s venue needs to have. You will definitely get that with Diana at Loughcrew Estate. My husband and I look back on our wedding day with joy and gratitude. We are so happy we chose to exchange vows at Loughcrew Estate & Gardens. Our wedding felt like a fairytale dream come true, and Loughcrew perfectly captures that essence. Cecilia and Ethan tied the knot at the historic Loughcrew Estate and they exchanged vows in the wonderfully romantic St Oliver Plunkett’s Church which dates back to the 17th century. Their cinematic and immensely moving wedding film by Luminaire Weddings begins to play out against the groom's heartstring-pulling vows where he tells his wife proudly, "There is only one you." What an incredible venue for our wedding. We wanted somewhere our guests could stay with us and where we could do a "day 2" as well. This location gave us the relaxed vibe we were hoping for. It also allowed us to make Loughcrew our home for the weekend which just felt incredible. The second day was just as enjoyable as the wedding, we arranged for a pizza van and coffee van for our guests and just enjoyed the stunning countryside with our guests. I photographed a wedding here in 2023 and we had the best time. The ceremony in the ruins of the church was perfect, take the risk, it may not rain :) The grounds were ideal for family photos and portraits of the couple. The staff were accommodating, the location is surreal. It's the most gorgeous wedding venue we have ever seen. Irish bride Justine and her Argentinian groom, Rodrigo knew exactly what they wanted (and didn't want!) from their big day, and a relaxed barbecue party at Loughcrew Estate ticked all the boxes.Today's real wedding is right up my street! And if you have dreams of a stress-free and stylish wedding, I think it'll be right up your street as well. I just wanted to send an email of thanks for our stay last weekend The whole weekend was over and beyond anything we could have imagined. The bride to be cried when she arrived with how spectacular it all was and completely exceeded all our expectations from the venue, the decor, Emma was just amazing and the food was fantasic I want to especially thank Aisling and Rose, they were incredible from start to finish and nothing was too big an ask.
