- JJoanne Goff31/01/2019A stunning venue with excellent staff!A stunning venue with excellent staff!My husband and I got married here on 12th January 2019 and we found the whole process from our initial visit to the wedding day was smooth, efficient and an absolute pleasure. We had two separate wedding coordinators which concerned us at first but they were both excellent and the handover was seamless. All of our queries were answered quickly and effectively and they made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. Our Master of Ceremonies Gareth went through everything with us just before the wedding so we knew what to expect. I can honestly say even though the initial experience had been so good we were still pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the day itself went. All the staff we dealt with on the day were excellent, they were friendly but professional and all performed their jobs admirably. The grounds and the venue itself are stunning and we can't wait to see our photographs, it is a beautiful setting for a wedding regardless of the time of year. The wedding breakfast was excellent, one always worries a little with mass catering but it was all brought out in a timely fashion and tasted amazing. The sticky toffee pudding was just the thing for a cold day in January and the portions were very generous. Our honeymoon suite was lovely and the views amazing, I had it from the night before so I could get ready in there and would definitely recommend it. All the little details were perfect. We used their resident DJ and he did a great job up keeping people up and dancing. Overall, I can honestly say that I would not hesitate to recommend this for a wedding venue. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
A great Hindu/Ukrainian wedding that took place across two days. The first day was for the Hindu ceremony with all guests dressed in traditional wear and Indian sweets being served. It was a great experience for the team and to see so many bright colours through the day. The second day was a traditional English wedding with the most beautiful décor, lots of foliage and flowers and rustic elements. Seeing the couple across the two days and their guests all embrace the two cultures was just brilliant.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It is your day don’t plan things around your guests, they will be happy just to celebrate with you. Choose the meal and drinks you will enjoy.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A groom hand-made a guitar as best man gift for his dad- full sized wooden electric guitar!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
11th tee of the Priory course. We take couples up there just before sunset to get a great photo of themselves with the Priory Building behind and the sun setting behind that. And you get a ride on the golf buggy to the top.

What is your venue's most unique feature?
As an old Priory building there are lots of beautiful character features but the one couples are really wowed by is the Minstrels gallery in the Haslam room, it adds a sense of grandeur to the room.

The team, every single member of staff works hard to ensure the couple and their guests feel special from the moment they arrive.
