This charming country house is set in seven acres of beautiful secluded gardens and woodland and sits on the eastern bank of Lake Windermere. Recently renovated and modernised throughout, Briery Wood has moved from a traditional design to a more contemporary styled hotel. Licenced to hold marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, you can exchange your vows in our stylish ceremony room or if the weather is kind, in our beautiful garden gazebo. Or if you choose to get married in church, you can join us after the ceremony. We have three all-inclusive wedding packages for you to choose from, all of which offer you and your guests exclusive use of the hotel and grounds for your special day. Alternatively, if you’re searching for that perfect, intimate wedding, our “Just Us” package allow the happy couple to enjoy the day alone together. From the moment you book your wedding until the day you say, ‘I do’, our dedicated wedding co-ordinator will be on hand to help you organise your day from start to finish. Most wonderful perfect experienceMost wonderful perfect experience
My husband & I married at Briery Wood on the 19th December with the Just Us package. It was the most wonderful, perfect experience made even more amazing by the wonderful staff who not only were our witnesses but also went above and beyond to make our day special. Our evening meal was outstanding and we will definitely be back for a meal again. Would recommend anyone marrying/staying at this wonderful hotel but have to say the staff make it memorable as they are so lovely.My husband & I married at Briery Wood on the 19th December with the Just Us package. A beautiful home from homeA beautiful home from home
We got married here at the weekend and what an amazing time we had! All of our guests left happy and are still contacting us to say how wonderful the staff were, how amazing the food was, how beautiful the surroundings were. We had the entire hotel to ourselves all weekend, it's a beautiful home from home. Roger and Lisa were incredible to work with from the very beginning, also David, Danny, and Madga were all wonderful too. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Beautiful memories to last a lifetime! Thank you so much! We got married here at the weekend and what an amazing time we had! All of our guests left happy and are still contacting us to say how wonderful the staff were, how amazing the food was, how beautiful the surroundings were. We can’t thank the staff at Briery Wood enough for making our Wedding weekend in September so special! All our guests thoroughly enjoyed the day/ weekend and we just want to do it all again. Thank you so much to the staff for making our wedding day one to remember.  Absolutely fantastic with how smoothly our day went.  We managed to get married outside, which was beautiful.  I can’t thank you enough. Roger the manager was fantastic and made sure that I got my dream wedding.  All our guests loved our day and thought it was really good that we had hired the venue from Friday to Sunday for just our guests.  Thank you again! My husband and I recently got married at this picturesque venue. We stayed from Friday to Monday and everything about our special day (and our stay) was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The staff were all welcoming and went above and beyond for their guests. We really liked the fact that all the staff that worked on our Wedding Day came to find us at the end of their shifts and congratulated us and thanked us for letting them be a part of it. The food was wonderful. We would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to get married or to enjoy a peaceful getaway in a friendly, relaxed environment. Thanks for making our day so special. Me and my new husband celebrated our wedding here the same weekend as the royals and what a weekend it was! Every single part of the Lakeland package we chose was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an authentic Lake District wedding. Their staff and management at the venue are all amazing, nothing was too much trouble and all my guests spoke highly of the venue and the experience we shared. The food is absolutely amazing and the way they catered for any dietary requirements was outstanding and enjoyed by all. Travel Notes

Briery can be reached by leaving the M6 at junction 36 (Kendal, South Lakes) and following the A591 for 15 miles, past Kendal and Windermere, until you see Briery Wood signed on the right. Briery is situated half a mile past the National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole which is well sign posted.
