Creating a relaxed, happy atmosphere and unique style of celebration is at the heart of everything we do. We are an inclusive, beautiful venue full of warmth and love. Be it an elopement, big family get together, lakeside ceremony, festival, or country escape, the time you spend celebrating with us will feel like a holiday. With each wedding we exclusively offer our beautiful farmhouse, private hot tubs and sauna, accommodation for 19, 1-bedroom bridal cottage and during the spring and summer 5 luxury Bell tents for hire, sleeping an additional 16 people. We also offer lots of advice and support to help you plan your theme, we're here to help you every step of the way. From offering the flexibility to have your own caterers, or to self-cater, to helping plan details and family arrangements. We offer various settings for your wedding, in our handcrafted lakeside gazebo, dappled with sunlight, filtering through the trees, or at sunset bathed in the golden light. Or inside in our beautiful old stone barn which offers a rustic feel. If you're planning a smaller wedding or intimate elopement, the main farmhouse offers a choice of rooms with oak beams and inglenook fireplaces, all licenced for ceremonies. Be creative and keep it authentic to you, host a wedding breakfast in the stone barn or under a stretch canopy. Hold the nuptials by the lake, then celebrate with a full reception dinner in the barn or a hog roast on the patio, followed by cocktails and star gazing. Or hold your wedding reception inside a traditional Tipi or Bedouin Tent, with string lights, creating a magical atmosphere. We can help you organise anything and everything, you can truly have complete control over creating the wedding you want. At Deer’s Leap you will always find yourself enveloped in nature’s relaxed ambience and our team’s warmth and care.

When James, my husband and I were looking for a special place where we could share our important day, not just with each other, but with our children, friends and family, we soon realised that unless we wanted someone else’s idea of a wedding, we would have to get married at home, at Deer’s Leap. We also realised that the magic of a Deer’s Leap wedding was too special not to share and we have been running weddings here ever since.

Small mid-week wedding packages for up to 30 guests start from £6500, depending on time of year. For larger weddings, 2020 packages start from £10,500 to £12,500 depending on the season. You are free to select your choice of caters for the venue. All weddings at Deer’s Leap includes hire of the Farmhouse for 2 nights on a self-catering basis, plus our honeymoon suite Hartford Cottage, your ceremony and reception venue. This also includes tables and chairs for both your ceremony. Parking for you and all your guests and lots of other essentials, and of course we are always on hand for support and will help you at every step of the way to create your dream wedding. We also have flexible payment plans, so you can relax and plan to your own budget.

Beautiful venueBeautiful venue
Heather and her team were incredible. They made our day one that we will treasure forever. Heather was kind, informative and calm. We loved her attitude to our wedding ideas. On the day she managed our wedding and guests perfectly. Other venues we had gone and seen had lots of stipulations and hidden costs but deers leap was upfront from the start. The venue was exactly what we wanted and we really felt welcomed by Heather and her family. I can't recommend it enough. We plan to go back and hire the house for other family events in the future we loved it SOOO much. Thank you deers leap. 😊😊Heather and her team were incredible. The most amazing venue! The most amazing venue!
We selected Deers Leap for our wedding as it had the relaxed individual kind of feel we wanted to be able to create our dream wedding rather than having everything chosen for us. The venue itself for the ceremony and reception was beautiful and the added bonus of so much accommodation meant we could make a real weekend of it with lots of family coming from further afield. We had lots of positive feedback from family staying in the Bell tents and we made good use of the hot tubs! The bridal cottage is also great, allowing privacy for getting ready on the morning of the wedding but also giving the newlyweds some time away from everyone after! Heather, James and the team went out of their way to assist with any requests and to make the day run smoothly so thank you! Simply the best day everSimply the best day ever
I remember when we started looking at wedding venues and looked at Deers Leap's website... I said to John (my now husband) there's no way we can afford such a beautiful place, we must forget about it. Then we thought, why not to try and we realised how helpful Heather and James were and completely on board of tailor making our wedding to pretty much anything we like. Anything that is sensibly achievable, Heather will do and make it work. They looked after our catering themselves as we had a small wedding, and all the guests were blown away about how nice the food was. The pricing was very fair and flexible and whenever we got stuck with anything, Heather would have plenty of great ideas to help. They have also accommodated things to have our dog there too. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It felt like dealing with long term friends, not dealing with someone who is running a business and that is just purely from friendliness and "easy to talk to" point of view whereas the business side of things dealing with payments were very professional. Deers Leap is the perfect place for people who want an intimate wedding that means a lot for the people who are organising it not just for the marrying couple and their families. For someone who loves the outdoors, the beautiful countryside and wants a unique wedding that is not identical to the one they had before or the next one. We still wish we could live that weekend all over again and I am sure most of our guests would say the same. I honestly can't recommend this place highly enough, we love Deers Leap and we think of Heather and the family more as friends ever since! We miss them all! We were so lucky to find Deers Leap Retreat. After months of searching for the perfect weekend wedding spot that we could afford we finally found this little gem. We had some key criteria on our list and Deers leap catered for all of our needs: ✅ weekend venue ✅ bring your own booze with no charge ✅ no curfews ✅ Laid back atmosphere ✅ bring your own catering ✅ a team that will do absolutely anything for you ✅ only wedding on site/ whole site just for your guests ✅ all your bridal party can stay onsite ✅ one price with no hidden extras/ add ins The team at Deers leap really make this the perfect venue. Not only is the sight just beautiful! You can get married by a beautiful lake with pontoon lightning and even have a fireworks display all finished off by champers in the three hot tubs! Heather and the Gang will help sort out anything including building a flower archway, hiding our surprise mariachi band, letting us stay from Thursday - Monday, giving out left over wine free to our guests, giving free lifts home to our tipsy guests, and organising last minute speeches with cake at the lakeside gazebo! No ask is too big and heather will make sure you have your dream wedding. We were so lucky to find Deers Leap Retreat.
