Downham Hall is a beautiful new venue in Downham, Essex. We are an ideal venue for people who want a boutique, countryside style wedding. The property has been on the site since the 16th Century with the current manifestation believed to have evolved over the last 300 years. We have spent almost three years lovingly renovating the property to the highest of standards and have incorporated 5 luxury en suite bedrooms, several function rooms, a luxurious marquee and stunning grounds available for wedding celebrations, all surrounded by beautiful countryside views. Downham Hall is an exclusive use wedding venue and the perfect setting for a small, intimate wedding in our beautiful De Beauvoir suite, or for a larger wedding held within our stunning marquee in the grounds. We would be delighted to offer our venue as the perfect setting for your special day. We are celebrating our first season of weddings in 2019 and have been very lucky to host lots of fantastic weddings! Although we are now taking bookings well into 2021 and beyond, we do still have a handful of dates available for 2019 and 2020 and have some amazing special offers available! All of the events held at Downham Hall are always very well received and we are lucky to have received lots of wonderful reviews. Many guests comment on the fact that the sheer beauty and peacefulness of the venue and it’s surroundings make you feel as though you are miles from anywhere but really you are only 2 miles from a mainline station into London Liverpool Street! Downham Hall is an ideal venue for both locals and those travelling from further afield to find the perfect setting for their wedding celebrations. Dream WeddingsDream Weddings
first of all I would like to thank Downham Hall for giving us our dream wedding. It had everything we wanted and added to our day, our guest enjoyed themselves. The venue is stunning the grounds are beautiful, even our guests remarked how beautiful it is. You forget where you are, you feel like your miles away in the countryside. Our rooms was lovely, with stunning views again, it had everything we wanted even a coffee machine hehe. A big thank you to Dawn, who played a big part in giving us our dream wedding, she was amazing! Always friendly and kept in touch all of the time. I would also like to thank Andrew and Christina, it was lovely to see the stages of Downham coming together and being a part of this. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Downham Hall for helping us with our Wedding Day which was perfect. Special thanks to Christina, Lauren and Dawn who helped to make the planning of the day so easy. We loved how personal the venue was knowing it was just our Family and Friends there and no-one else there for other events. Everyone was so professional but extremely friendly, always asking if we needed any help through the weeks leading up to the big day. The rooms were amazing, clean and tidy. The breakfast for the morning of the wedding for the Bridal Party was brilliant. The cooked breakfast the following morning was absolutely amazing too and was lovely to see Christina and friendly faces. We can’t thank you enough for letting us have our special day at Downham Hall. We would just like to start by saying thank you!! Our day was absolutely magical and we have to give thanks to everyone at Downham Hall for making the day run seamlessly. We had our wedding on the 13th July and from the start of the process last year to the moment the last guest left, we could not fault anything. The first time we went there we were warmly welcomed by Christina and we completely fell in love with the venue and the wonderful family run business. We had Dawn as our wedding coordinator and she is just fabulous! Absolutely wonderful lady who helped me so much throughout the whole process, always made me feel calm and always took time to reply to any mad or little questions I had. Nothing was to much trouble and it really made the whole thing so much less daunting. Every single one of our guests thought that the venue was stunning, it really is beautiful. There is no other place I could ever dream of having that would be more perfect then Downham Hall. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back to stay soon!!
