Description

We offer bespoke and package weddings, tailored to each couple, so you can have your perfect day, exactly the way you want it. Our dedicated Events Team will take a personal approach to your day and will be on hand to ensure the big day runs smoothly. Our barn wedding venue is licensed to hold civil ceremonies in both the Oak Barn or for outdoor ceremonies, in Gazebo for up to 150 guests. To follow the ceremony, you have the choice of hosting your wedding breakfast in either the Barn, seating up to 70, or our Event Suite seating up to 200. For the main event (or as we see it, the food!) we offer varied menus to suit all. As members of Produced in Kent, we are proud of the quality of our ingredients; the Lamb and Beef are from our own family farms, the Game is from our shoot and we now grow all our own fresh produce onsite, in our kitchen garden. The Ferry House restaurant was awarded Kent Dining Pub of the Year in 2014 and in 2018. Our Evening Reception options include Barn only receptions for up to 100 guests, Barn and Dance floor options which include an additional private wedding bar for up to 150 guests or our entire Event Suite is available to use all day to host the wedding breakfast with a dancing area screened off during your meal which is then revealed in the evening. This option also includes the private wedding bar from after the ceremony, and is suitable for up to 300 guests. To end the day in style and comfort, we have 11 4* B&B rooms on site for you and your guests; including our Bridal Suite with a super king sized sleigh bed, spa bath, lounge area and views across the wedding Patios, Gardens and Estuary. Wake up to an award winning local breakfast and reminisce on the day before. Just off-site, we also have Mocketts Farm Cottages, a complex of five 4* self-catered cottages available to book for 50 plus guests. The perfect ‘next-stop’ for family and friends to stay or to make a weekend of things!

    I couldn't recommend the Ferry House Inn highly enough! We had an early January winter wedding and this venue pulled out all the stops. Not only is this place gorgeous the food, drink, staff and accommodation are 5*! The team here provide a stress free day for a fraction of the price of some other venues we researched.     We got married at The Ferry House in Autumn we loved the amazing photo opportunities including our 1st dance outside with our guests surrounding us with sparklers. We knew the wedding gardens were great for photos and to mingle but if the weather wasn't on our side the inside spaces like the barn were perfect for everyone to gather with a bar, reception drinks and canapes. My Nan & Grandad got comfortable in lounge area and there was an open fire in there if we needed it. My guests spoke so highly about the food and are still talking about it now!     This venue was perfect for our late Autumn wedding. It was so cosy! Everyone at the venue couldn’t have been more helpful and supported us throughout the planning process.     The whole team were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, and took so much stress away. Supplier recommendations were spot on and really gave us the atmosphere and wedding day we hoped for. Thank you so much to the whole team, and particularly Steven, who was amazing on the Friday helping to sort out last minute accomodation and who looked after us so well- he really made a difference to easing the stress and panic I first had when I arrived on Friday and Emily for everything running so smoothly on the day and looking exactly how I imagined it to.The whole team were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, and took so much stress away. Supplier recommendations were spot on and really gave us the atmosphere and wedding day we hoped for.     The venue was a stunning setting for our wedding, and the staff decorated both the barn and event suite perfectly. We really liked having the use of these two separate spaces as well as the outdoor area, to allow for photos with different backdrops, and bring variety to the day for guests. The staff and suppliers on the day were brilliant, and ensured everything ran smoothly. The food was exceptional - all of our guests commented on what a wonderful wedding breakfast it was, and we love that it is locally and organically sourced! Thank you. We were also really keen to have a venue where guests could stay on site or close-by, to allow us to make a weekend of the event.     We have wanted to be married for 5 years, but with 2 children we had neither the money or time to plan our wedding. We came across The Ferry House Inn by recommendation and after we visited, we knew we had found our venue. The price list is very clear and detailed; meaning we could tailor our wedding to suit our preferences (and budget). Leading up to the wedding, we were supported by Kelci (our wedding planner) along with the other staff members to ensure everything went perfectly. We had to make some short notice changes and The Ferry House were very accommodating. We are very pleased with how our wedding went and the food was delicious! We have already recommended it as a venue for a friend's wedding. Couldn't be more happy. The Ferry House Inn will now be an extremely special place to both of us as we have so many memories here that we will cherish forever. All week we have just been smiling from ear to ear and occasionally laughing about something or other that happened on our wedding day. This was in no small part down to yourself and your team and we are both so, so grateful. Everything ran so smoothly and allowed us to completely relax on the day and really enjoy ourselves. Phil created such an amazing, warm, fun and relaxed atmosphere for us and our guests.We both had the most perfect, magical day we could ever have dreamt of. Relaxed, Beautiful, Homely, Unique, Romantic

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Oooo this is a hard one! We have quite a few different areas for photos. Personally I have two favorite 'must-have' photo spots and that is by the water and in our secret orchard. Photos by the water are always beautiful and always different depending on weather, timing & tide. We had the most amazing shot of a couple by the estuary between the sunset and a rainbow. LOVE! The Secret Orchard is also a must! We leave the grass and flowers wild and there are always some amazing shots in there.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Did we ever say that Jude Law stayed here not long ago whilst filming?!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Oooo has to be the mini burgers with beef from our family farm

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

It has to be our Signature wedding cake! Chocolate brownie wrapped in malted white chocolate cheesecake...

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Has to be our food ethos. We have an extensive kitchen garden where we grow 60% of the fresh produce on our wedding menu. Our beef is all reared on the neighboring nature reserve and game is all shot on the Harty Estate. We even serve gin that is made from the grain from our farm!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The part of the business we are the proudest of has to be our team! We genuinely are a Ferry House family and without everyone in every department being passionate about the part they play, we would not be able to pull off the amazing weddings that we do. Plus we have a great sense of humour...
