Nanny Brow

Nanny Brow is a stunning Arts and Crafts property in the heart of the Lake District. We cater for intimate and exclusive weddings (up to 45 people) and with first class, friendly service, are one of the most revered venues in the Lakes, in which to get married. Our couples have the opportunity to marry outside, with the breathtaking vista of the Brathay Valley and Langdale Fells, or inside in our elegant dining room. After the ceremony, guests can mingle either outside enjoying the incredible views (we have five acres of ground to explore), or inside, relaxing in our beautiful lounge and bar whilst the necessary photographs are taken. This is when you can enjoy celebratory fizz and canapés! Exclusive use of the venue adds to the intimacy of the celebration. At Nanny Brow, we are renowned for our personal service and nothing is ever too much trouble for our brides and their guests. It's the little extras that make all the difference. For example, as part of the celebrations, we provide a complimentary afternoon tea of home-made cakes and scones for your guests as they arrive on the first afternoon. We work very closely with a range of local businesses that we have known for many years and who would be more than happy to assist with your wedding organisation. For catering, we generally use the services of Nick Foster for the canapés and wedding breakfast, a superb award winning local chef who offers ‘outside catering’ for exclusive venues. He will also supply the necessary waiting staff. There are also plenty of things to do locally to make your wedding celebration special and you can incorporate a leisurely Lake Cruise on Windermere as part of the day (an early ceremony gives you the chance to go onto the Lake once married)! Whatever you choose for your special day, you can rest assured that at Nanny Brow, memories of your magical day will last a lifetime.
